Digital freight platform Freightos Limited has announced a change to its board structure after founder Zvi Schreiberconfirmed he will step down from the company’s Board of Directors, effective February 28, 2026.
The move marks the end of Schreiber’s formal governance role with the company he founded more than a decade ago. Freightos said the board will remain fully constituted and compliant with all applicable corporate governance requirements following his departure.
Leadership transition and CEO search continues
Freightos added that its ongoing search for a permanent Chief Executive Officer will continue as planned, with the board overseeing the process while maintaining operational stability during the leadership transition.
The company emphasised that it remains focused on its long-term mission of digitalising global freight, connecting carriers, freight forwarders, importers and exporters through its digital marketplace and technology platforms.
The board also expressed its appreciation for Schreiber’s role in building and shaping the company since its founding.
Founder reflects on departure
In a statement, Schreiber explained that his decision to step down from the board comes as perspectives between himself and the board regarding the company’s strategic direction have diverged.
“As Freightos just announced, I have decided to leave the board of directors — 14 years after founding the company,” he said.
“Today’s earnings release outlined the board’s strategy and plans for the year ahead. That’s the board’s prerogative, but as our perspectives on the direction for the company have diverged, I prefer to step off the board at this time.”
Despite stepping away from the board, Schreiber indicated he will remain supportive of the company and its long-term goals.
“Freightos has been a wonderful journey. As a shareholder and friend of the company, I will continue to cheer on the wonderful team, many of whom I count as friends, as they continue to digitalise global shipping,” he added.
Digital freight pioneer
Founded in 2012, Freightos has been widely recognised as a pioneer in the digitalisation of the freight industry, developing online platforms that allow freight rate comparison, booking and management across global logistics networks.
Through its marketplaces and technology solutions, the company connects airlines, ocean carriers, freight forwarders and shippers, helping modernise traditionally manual processes in international freight booking and pricing.
Schreiber’s departure marks a notable milestone in the company’s evolution as Freightos continues to expand its digital freight ecosystem and pursue new growth opportunities in global logistics technology.
