LATAM Cargo Chile has expanded its international cargo network with the launch of a new direct freighter service connecting Frankfurt, Germany, with Antofagasta in northern Chile, a strategic move aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency for the region’s thriving mining sector.
The weekly service, which commenced operations on May 23, is operated using a Boeing 767 freighter and provides 25 tonnes of dedicated cargo capacity between Frankfurt Airport and Andrés Sabella Airport in Antofagasta. The route marks a significant milestone in LATAM Cargo’s efforts to strengthen logistics connectivity between Europe and South America while supporting industries that depend on reliable and time-sensitive transportation solutions.
Dedicated Support for Chile’s Mining Heartland
Antofagasta is widely recognized as the center of Chile’s mining industry and plays a critical role in the global production of copper and other mineral resources.
