Liège is set to become a focal point for the global air cargo and cross-border e-commerce industry this September as the EU Cross-Border E-Commerce (EU CBEC) Forum 2026 prepares to welcome more than 1,000 delegates, making it the largest edition of the event to date.

The three-day forum will bring together a broad spectrum of industry stakeholders, including airlines, freight forwarders, shippers, customs authorities, technology providers, retailers and supply chain specialists to examine the future of international e-commerce logistics.

The 2026 edition will feature more than 300 participating companies, including approximately 60 airlines, over 100 freight forwarders and multiple global logistics stakeholders, reflecting the increasing importance of air cargo in supporting the rapid growth and transformation of cross-border trade.

Industry Leaders to Address Emerging Challenges and Opportunities

The conference agenda will focus on critical topics shaping the future of e-commerce supply chains, including customs reform, evolving regulations, digitalisation, artificial intelligence (AI), data management, supply chain resilience and changing consumer expectations.

A total of 53 international speakers will participate in panel discussions and keynote sessions, sharing insights on how the cargo and logistics industry can adapt to market volatility, regulatory transformation and increasing demand for faster, more efficient cross-border fulfilment.

Frederic Brun, Head of Commercial Cargo & Logistics at Liège Airport, highlighted the unprecedented level of industry participation.

“This is already set to become the biggest EU CBEC Forum to date, with more than 1,000 registered participants for the first time in the event’s history. The forum will welcome a diverse range of industry players, including airlines, freight forwarders, shippers, media organisations and technology experts, creating a unique platform for collaboration across the global e-commerce and air cargo ecosystem,” he said.

The event will include 17 expert panels and presentations covering topics ranging from customs modernisation and compliance requirements to logistics adaptation, cargo market resilience, AI-driven innovation and the future development of cross-border e-commerce networks.

Innovation, Technology and Business Collaboration at the Forefront

Beyond its conference programme, EU CBEC 2026 will offer dedicated exhibition and networking platforms designed to facilitate new partnerships between logistics providers, technology companies, cargo operators and e-commerce stakeholders.

The event’s “Freight Meets Magic” theme will be reflected through networking activities, a welcome reception, gala events and the interactive LAB Area, where companies will showcase advanced technologies, digital tools and operational solutions designed to improve e-commerce and air cargo performance.

The forum will also highlight the role of CARGOLAND, Liège Airport’s dedicated cargo community and e-commerce gateway, demonstrating how specialised infrastructure, streamlined processes and industry collaboration can support the increasing complexity of global trade flows.

With structured one-to-one meetings, exhibitions and exclusive networking events taking place throughout the programme, EU CBEC Forum 2026 aims to create meaningful commercial opportunities while fostering dialogue on the next phase of cross-border e-commerce and air cargo development.

As global trade patterns continue to evolve and regulatory requirements become more complex, the gathering in Liège is expected to provide a key platform for industry leaders to exchange knowledge, explore emerging technologies and shape the future of international e-commerce logistics.
