Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services has signed a new contract with CHAMP Cargosystems to deploy the Shipply.Vision Truck solution across the German market, providing the company with real-time shipment tracking from origin to delivery.
The integration of Shipply.Vision Truck will allow Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services to monitor shipments throughout the entire journey—starting from the moment a trucker picks up freight at its origin (the “first mile”) to when it is delivered to the consignee (the “last mile”). This enhanced visibility ensures that events related to the shipment are tracked and updated in real time, improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Launched in 2021 with one of CHAMP’s long-standing customers, Shipply.Vision Truck is designed for simplicity and ease of use. It does not require any software installation or apps; instead, truck drivers simply scan a QR code with the camera of their device to initiate tracking. This low-barrier approach promotes higher adoption rates among users, ensuring better visibility throughout the supply chain.
The solution addresses the growing demand for real-time, automated tracking within the air cargo industry. By providing instant status updates, Shipply.Vision Truck helps reduce communication delays, enabling drivers to report any issues such as delays or discrepancies with photographic evidence. This functionality fosters improved communication, transparency, and digitalisation across the logistics network, especially when working with smaller couriers who may not have dedicated interfaces.
Christian Sass, Product Owner for Track & Trace at Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership, stating, “We are delighted to have found an effective and innovative solution in CHAMP’s Shipply.Vision Truck. This will equip us with more accurate and immediate information, allowing us to better serve our customers. Real-time tracking and updates are critical for meeting the growing demands of our customer base.”
The collaboration between CHAMP and Lufthansa Technik spans more than two decades, built on a foundation of close cooperation and a shared commitment to innovation in the air cargo industry.
Ed Dorr, VP of the eCargo portfolio at CHAMP, added, “Shipply.Vision Truck is an excellent tool that Lufthansa Technik is perfectly positioned to leverage for greater visibility and transparency. We’ve enjoyed a long partnership with Lufthansa Technik, and we’re proud to provide them with open, innovative software solutions that drive growth and success.”
The implementation of Shipply.Vision Truck marks another step in Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services’ ongoing efforts to streamline its logistics operations and meet the rising expectations of its customers in an increasingly digital landscape.
