SF Airlines Launches First Direct Cargo Route from Hubei Province to Hungary
Ezhou Huahu Airport in central China’s Hubei Province has launched a new international air cargo route to Budapest, the capital of Hungary, according to an announcement by SF Airlines on Monday.
This marks the first air cargo connection between Ezhou Huahu Airport, China’s first cargo-focused airport, and Hungary. It is also SF Airlines’ third route from this airport to Europe. The route will be serviced by a Boeing 747-400 freighter, with a round-trip flight scheduled weekly, offering over 200 tonnes of cargo capacity each week.
The direct route is expected to facilitate the transport of parcel express and e-commerce goods, among other cargo. SF Airlines highlighted that this new channel will enhance air logistics between China and Hungary, boosting economic exchanges between the two regions.
Ezhou Huahu Airport, operational since July 2022, serves as a major hub for cargo traffic with some passenger services. In April 2023, the airport launched its first international cargo route, also operated by SF Airlines.
SF Airlines, headquartered in Shenzhen, is China’s largest air cargo carrier by fleet size. The airline has developed an extensive international route network from Ezhou to various destinations in Europe, North America, the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia. This new route to Budapest further strengthens its global presence and connectivity.
