Mena Cargo, the newest dedicated full-service cargo airline to enter the Middle East and North Africa region, and the third freighter operator in Bahrain, has announced its first strategic partner: Portugal-based EuroAtlantic Airways.
It is the new division of Mena Aerospace Enterprises, the turnkey solutions provider of comprehensive airport and aviation services in Bahrain.
Recently, the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications’ Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) department in the kingdom had officially awarded an Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) to Mena Cargo, which sits under the MAE Aircraft Management branch of Mena Aerospace Enterprises.
With this, the group is now officially open for business, as its personnel, assets and systems have been approved to begin commercial operations.
As per the deal, Mena Cargo said EuroAtlantic Airways would supply aircraft to support Mena Cargo’s global strategy in expanding its operations across South East Asia, Europe and the US.
A one-year charter agreement has been signed for a Boeing 777-200ER and Boeing 767-300ER, both of which are P2F, with the likelihood of more aircraft being added soon.
The deal was signed at the Gitex Global tech event in Dubai by the duo, which will also be participating together at the upcoming Dubai Airshow.
