Facility to Create 300 New Jobs – This facility—the company’s latest investment in Texas—will support Amazon Air
On September 17th, Amazon to hold ‘Amazon Career Day’ event in Dallas for job seekers to learn more about the thousands of open positions across Texas—candidates can register at amazon.jobs/careerday

Amazon has created more than 22,000 full-time jobs in Texas and invested over $10 billion in the state since 2010, including customer fulfillment facilities, cloud infrastructure, and a 253-megawatt wind farm

Amazon recently announced its Regional Air Hub at the Fort Worth Alliance Airport will open in October. The Regional Air Hub is the first build-to-suit airport project of its kind in the Amazon Air network and was designed to support Amazon Air’s larger scale regional needs, including sortation capability and infrastructure to handle multiple flights daily.

“We are excited to start flying to and from our new facility at the Fort Worth Alliance Airport very soon – this facility will allow us to offer even more selection and faster delivery to our customers”

Amazon expects this facility to create 300 new full-time jobs over time as operations reach full capacity. Job seekers interested in learning more about Amazon’s new positions in Dallas-Fort Worth and across Texas can attend the Dallas Amazon Career Day event on September 17th. For more information – including how to register for the event and apply for open roles – visit amazon.jobs/careerday.

“We are excited to start flying to and from our new facility at the Fort Worth Alliance Airport very soon – this facility will allow us to offer even more selection and faster delivery to our customers,” said Sarah Rhoads, Vice President of Amazon Global Air. “This is our latest investment in Texas and we look forward to hiring top talent from the local community.”

The new Regional Air Hub will include daily flights and allow Amazon to further serve its customer base in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Amazon Career Day

To help job seekers connect with their next career opportunity, Amazon will hold six informational and networking events next Tuesday, September 17th in Dallas, Chicago, Boston, Nashville, Seattle and Arlington, Virginia – the site of the company’s second headquarters in North America. In Dallas, the event will be from 11:30 am to 7 pm at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. Amazon Career Day events will feature businesses across Amazon, and recruiters will be on-hand to talk with candidates about corporate roles at our 18 Tech Hubs, as well as within our customer fulfillment, delivery, and retail facilities. In addition to the positions available at the company, the events will include informational sessions on how to be your own boss with help from Amazon by selling on Amazon, starting your own delivery company becoming a Delivery Service Partner, or publishing your own book.

With more than 650,000 employees worldwide, Amazon has been recognized on LinkedIn’s Top Companies list for the past four years, ranked #2 in the Fortune 2017 and 2018 World’s Most Admired Companies, and ranked #5 in Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies. The company also receives a perfect score from the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index. Amazon provides highly competitive benefits to full-time employees, including comprehensive healthcare from day one, 401(k) matching, and up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave — from the company’s most senior executives to its hourly FC associates. Through its Upskilling 2025 initiative, Amazon has also committed $700 million to programs aiming to provide its employees with the skills they need for new, in-demand jobs, from paid cloud computing apprenticeships to its Career Choice program, which pre-pays 95% of tuition for courses in high-demand fields, regardless of whether skills are relevant to a career at Amazon.

Investing and creating jobs in Texas

Since 2010, Amazon has created more than 22,000 full-time, full-benefit jobs in Texas and invested more than $10 billion in the state, from building customer fulfillment facilities, cloud infrastructure, and a 253-megawatt wind farm, to compensation to its teams. These direct investments contributed an additional $9 billion to the Texas economy and generated an additional 32,000 indirect jobs on top of the company’s direct hires. More than 130,000 authors, developers, and small and mid-sized businesses in Texas are also growing their businesses with Amazon.
