Niels Kröning will take up his position as Managing Director of Swissport Losch in Munich on 1 January 2024. He will strengthen the management of Swissport Losch and position the company for the future challenges at Munich Airport.

Swissport Losch Munich will be managed by Niels Kröning as of 1 January 2024. The 45-year-old lawyer has several years of management experience in aviation companies. Through his career in various companies, he has acquired broad expertise in areas such as general management, strategic financial transformation, stakeholder management, business development, public affairs and strategy development. Most recently, Niels Kröning worked for the training and simulation company CAE in Stolberg as Vice President European Strategy.

“We are convinced that we have found an experienced manager in Niels Kröning. With his specialist knowledge, which ranges from legal expertise to strategic leadership, he has the necessary skills to strengthen Swissport Losch in its new setting and lead it into a successful future at Munich Airport,” says Bruno Stefani, Senior Vice President and CEO of the DACH, Italy & France region.

The new management under Niels Kröning will further strengthen this position and establish Swissport Losch as a subcontractor of Aeroground. Kröning will also drive forward the recruitment, training and qualification of new and existing employees in order to be able to continue offering Munich Airport stable and high-quality ground handling services in summer 2024.

“We are delighted to have gained in Niels Kröning a Managing Director with a great deal of management experience, strategic finesse and a strong hands-on mentality and wish him success in his new role,” adds Marc Losch, Managing Partner of LOSCH Airport Service.

Following the license decision in mid-September of this year, Munich Airport, AeroGround and Swissport Losch intend to continue their long-term cooperation at Munich Airport. In order to ensure smooth operations at Munich Airport, AeroGround plans to appoint another ground handling service provider as a subcontractor and has initiated a tendering process for this purpose. Swissport Losch took part in the tender and is confident of securing the bid.

The aim is to cooperate in the area of ground handling services in order to secure the planned traffic growth at Munich Airport and to ensure high-quality aircraft and baggage handling. Swissport Losch has a deep bond with Lufthansa and the Munich site. With a longstanding history as a ground services provider boasting over 650 employees at Munich Airport, is predestined for reliable operations.
