Digital freight forwarder Zencargo has appointed Gary Jeffreys as Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), as the company intensifies its push into enterprise-scale supply chains and more complex global logistics operations.

The appointment signals Zencargo’s strategic focus on expanding its presence among large multinational shippers seeking greater visibility, automation and data-driven decision-making across increasingly complex supply networks.

Jeffreys joins the company after more than two decades in senior leadership roles within the logistics industry, most recently serving as Managing Director for UK and Ireland at A.P. Moller – Maersk. In his new role, he will lead Zencargo’s regional strategy across EMEA, strengthen executive-level customer relationships and accelerate the adoption of the company’s AI-powered freight management platform.

Expanding into Complex Enterprise Supply Chains

Zencargo has positioned itself as an AI-driven digital freight forwarder designed to provide end-to-end supply chain visibility and operational control through a technology-led logistics platform.

The company’s leadership says Jeffreys’ appointment comes at a time when enterprise customers are increasingly seeking integrated digital tools capable of managing complex international freight flows and multi-modal supply chains.

As SVP EMEA, Jeffreys will focus on helping large global organisations optimise logistics performance by leveraging Zencargo’s platform for predictive analytics, real-time shipment visibility and collaborative supply chain management.

Leadership Perspective

Commenting on the appointment, Zencargo co-founder and CEO Richard Fattal said the decision reflects the company’s ambition to scale its enterprise customer base and deliver advanced digital capabilities to global shippers.

Fattal noted that many large organisations are moving away from fragmented logistics models reliant on multiple disconnected providers and manual processes.

According to him, enterprise customers increasingly demand integrated intelligence embedded directly within operational execution, allowing them to make faster and more informed decisions across their logistics networks.

He added that bringing in a senior industry leader such as Jeffreys reinforces Zencargo’s ambition to become a strategic freight partner for complex international supply chains.

Industry Experience and Strategic Focus

Jeffreys brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in global logistics and freight management. During his tenure at Maersk, he oversaw commercial strategy and operations across key European markets, gaining extensive experience in maritime logistics, integrated supply chains and customer transformation programmes.

At Zencargo, his mandate will include strengthening the company’s presence in major EMEA logistics hubs while supporting enterprise customers in digitising their freight operations.

He will also work closely with senior supply chain executives to address operational challenges such as real-time visibility, exception management and the reduction of manual processes within international logistics networks.

Technology as a Differentiator

The appointment comes at a time when logistics providers are increasingly investing in digital tools to improve supply chain resilience and operational efficiency.

While geopolitical disruptions—including the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the impacts of Brexit and instability affecting shipping routes in the Red Sea—continue to shape global logistics, Jeffreys believes the industry’s most pressing challenges are operational rather than geopolitical.

According to Jeffreys, supply chain leaders today are primarily focused on improving visibility, managing disruptions more effectively and reducing the number of handover points within complex freight networks.

He emphasised that technology-driven logistics platforms will play a crucial role in enabling companies to manage these challenges, providing predictive insights and improved collaboration across supply chain stakeholders.

Platform Innovation with AI

Zencargo has recently expanded the capabilities of its digital freight platform with the introduction of Luca AI, an intelligence layer designed to enhance real-time visibility and generate predictive insights across supply chains.

The AI-powered system analyses shipment data and logistics patterns to help companies anticipate disruptions, optimise routing decisions and improve overall supply chain performance.

With demand for data-driven logistics solutions continuing to grow, Zencargo sees the EMEA region as a central pillar of its expansion strategy.

Growth Outlook in EMEA

The EMEA region remains one of the most strategically important markets for digital freight services, driven by the presence of large multinational manufacturers, retailers and e-commerce companies with complex international supply chains.

By strengthening its leadership team and expanding enterprise engagement, Zencargo aims to accelerate adoption of its technology platform across the region’s most sophisticated logistics operations.

Industry analysts note that the appointment reflects a broader shift within freight forwarding toward technology-enabled, platform-driven logistics models, as companies increasingly seek integrated digital tools to manage supply chain complexity in an unpredictable global environment.
