cargo-partner, part of Nippon Express Holdings, has retained its EcoVadis Silver Medal for corporate sustainability, achieving a score of 72 and placing the company within the top 15% of assessed businesses worldwide. The latest rating is valid through March 2027 and underscores cargo-partner’s ongoing focus on responsible business practices across its global operations.

EcoVadis, a leading provider of corporate sustainability assessments, evaluates companies in four core areas: environmental impact, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

“Retaining our EcoVadis Silver Medal is a strong confirmation of our long-term commitment,” said CEO Luca Ferrara. “Being ranked in the 85th percentile highlights the continued efforts of our teams worldwide to embed environmental, social and governance principles into daily operations.”

Sustained Progress on Sustainability

cargo-partner first advanced from Bronze to Silver in its previous assessment and has now successfully maintained the higher rating. The company said the result reflects steady progress in adapting to evolving sustainability expectations while reinforcing operational accountability.

Workforce Development and Inclusion

A key component of the company’s approach is its focus on people. cargo-partner prioritizes fair working conditions, employee development, and the creation of an inclusive workplace. The company has also emphasised diversity, equity, and inclusion, viewing a diverse workforce as essential to innovation, resilience, and long-term performance.

Governance and Ethical Standards

The company operates under a formal corporate compliance framework, including a charter and code of conduct that cover human rights, anti-corruption, and fraud prevention. Internal reporting channels allow employees to raise ethical concerns safely, while robust information security measures across its global operations reinforce transparency and data protection.

Environmental Initiatives and Sustainable Supply Chain Solutions

cargo-partner continues to expand its environmental initiatives through a three-pillar strategy: measuring, optimising, and reducing emissions. Its digital platform provides shipment-level greenhouse gas emissions data, enabling customers to make informed logistics decisions.

Additional measures include route optimisation, improved capacity utilisation, and lower-emission transport solutions, such as rail freight, electric vehicles, and alternative fuels, including sustainable aviation fuel and hydrotreated vegetable oil. The company is also increasing renewable energy usage across its facilities.

Future Outlook

By retaining its Silver status, cargo-partner aims to further strengthen its role as a responsible partner in global supply chains. The company plans to continue balancing environmental targets with social responsibility and robust corporate governance, reinforcing its position as a sustainability leader in the logistics sector.
