- Talma, a member of Grupo Sandoval based in South America, has achieved a new goal in strengthening its Integrated Management System (IMS) by extending the scope of its international certification granted by AENOR.
- This now includes its operations in Mexico, in addition to Peru and Ecuador. According to TALMA, ‘this achievement reinforces the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and implementation of international quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety standards.’
- The process included on-site visits, guidance, and ongoing follow-up among participating teams.
The expanded certification scope strengthens the airport services provider’s integrated management framework, reinforcing its focus on quality, environmental responsibility and occupational health and safety across its Latin American operations.
Certification expansion covers three key Latin American markets
The certification scope extension covers Talma’s airport services operations in Mexico, Peru and Ecuador, bringing these markets within the company’s expanded Integrated Management System (IMS) certification framework.
The certification, granted by AENOR, covers three internationally recognised management standards:
- ISO 9001: Quality Management Systems.
- ISO 14001: Environmental Management Systems.
- ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
The expanded scope reflects Talma’s efforts to establish consistent management practices across its regional operations, with a focus on service quality, environmental performance, workplace safety and operational efficiency.
The process involved coordinated work among the teams responsible for the Integrated Management System, alongside other corporate departments. On-site assessments, technical guidance and continuous follow-up helped align procedures and management criteria across the participating countries.
The initiative also encouraged the exchange of operational best practices, supporting greater consistency in the implementation of management standards throughout the organisation.
Nearly three decades of management system development
Commenting on the achievement, Arturo Cassinelli, Corporate General Manager of Talma, said the milestone reflected the company’s progress over nearly three decades in strengthening its management systems.
He highlighted quality, safety and sustainability as fundamental pillars of the company’s management approach, adding that the expanded certification would further reinforce its culture of continuous improvement and its commitments to customers and other stakeholders.
Talma’s certification journey dates back to 1998, when the company first obtained ISO 9001 certification for quality management. In 2004, it subsequently adopted an Integrated Management System based on three international standards, commonly referred to as the Trinorma framework.
The latest expansion builds on this foundation, reinforcing the company’s approach to standardising management practices across its operations in Latin America.
For the airport services and air cargo handling sector, consistent management systems are particularly important in maintaining service reliability, managing operational risks, improving environmental performance and ensuring safe working conditions across complex airport environments.
Strengthening regional operational standards
A member of Grupo Sandoval, Talma is a major airport services provider in Latin America, with activities spanning cargo handling, ground handling and other airport-related services.
The company’s regional footprint makes the harmonisation of operational procedures and management standards an important element of its growth strategy.
By extending the AENOR certification scope to Mexico alongside Peru and Ecuador, Talma is strengthening the framework through which it manages quality, environmental responsibility and occupational safety across these markets.
