Farnborough, UK — Farnborough International Airshow 2026 concluded with record attendance, multi-billion-dollar commercial agreements and groundbreaking technology demonstrations, reaffirming its position as one of the world’s leading aerospace and defence exhibitions.

Held over five days at the birthplace of British aviation, the event attracted 141,580 trade and public visitors from 136 countries, representing a 41% increase compared with the previous edition and almost double the attendance recorded in 2022.

Organisers said the show generated more than US$84.7 billion in commercial business, reflecting continued confidence across the global aerospace sector despite ongoing supply chain and geopolitical challenges.

Strong Commercial Momentum

Commercial aviation remained a major focus throughout the exhibition, with leading manufacturers announcing significant aircraft and engine orders.

In total, the airshow recorded 353 firm commercial aircraft orders alongside 904 firm engine orders, underlining sustained demand for new-generation aircraft and propulsion technologies.

Industry leaders including Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, CFM International’s LEAP engine programme, and Pratt & Whitney unveiled new agreements and product developments as airlines continue investing in fleet modernisation and more fuel-efficient aircraft.

The strong order activity reinforced aviation’s long-term growth outlook while highlighting continued investment in sustainable and technologically advanced fleets.

Innovation Shapes the Future of Flight

Beyond commercial announcements, Farnborough 2026 showcased emerging technologies that are expected to redefine the future of aviation.

One of the event’s defining moments came when Vertical Aerospace completed the first public electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) flight demonstration at the airshow.

The aircraft successfully transitioned between helicopter and fixed-wing flight modes before returning to vertical flight, marking a significant milestone for advanced air mobility and urban aviation.

The flying programme also featured the debut appearance of the Fursan Al Emarat – UAE National Air Display Team, whose seven-aircraft aerobatic display added another international highlight to the event.
