KLN Logistics Group Limited (KLN) and SATS Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening supply chain connectivity and developing new logistics solutions for time-critical and temperature-sensitive cargo.
Under the agreement, KLN Freight International Limited, a subsidiary of KLN, will work with SATS to combine their respective freight forwarding, logistics and air cargo handling capabilities across Asia, Europe and the Americas.
The companies said the collaboration is intended to improve operational efficiency, strengthen end-to-end supply chain connectivity and develop solutions that can be deployed across their combined global networks.

The first phase of the partnership will focus on two areas: temperature-controlled handling and expedited processing for time-critical shipments.
The temperature-controlled initiative will cover end-to-end handling and storage of sensitive cargo, while the time-critical service will focus on shipments requiring rapid and reliable processing.
The companies said the initiatives are particularly relevant to sensitive cargo, including healthcare shipments, where maintaining product integrity and meeting delivery timelines can be critical.
“Every touchpoint in the supply chain is critical to safeguarding patient safety and service continuity,” said Wong Siew Loong, executive director and chief operating officer of KLN.
He said the partnership would combine the companies’ complementary capabilities to strengthen network resilience, improve shipment visibility and raise service standards across their operations.
SATS chief commercial officer Martin Holme said the collaboration would build on the company’s experience in cargo visibility, operational efficiency and time-critical shipments.
“Singapore will be the first station for these initiatives,” Holme said, describing the country as a launchpad for solutions that could subsequently be scaled across the companies’ respective global networks.
The partnership comes as logistics providers face growing demand for more closely integrated handling of cargo that requires either strict temperature control or accelerated processing.
KLN already provides temperature-controlled transport and storage solutions, including pharmaceutical and cold-chain services, while SATS operates an international air cargo handling network through its gateway services business.
The MOU does not specify a timetable for wider rollout, but the companies said the initial Singapore initiatives are intended to provide a platform for expansion across their networks in Asia, Europe and the Americas.
