Awery Aviation Software has launched Ask Awery, a new beta capability that enables users of its aviation enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform to access operational, commercial and financial data through AI assistants including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Cursor.
The functionality uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard designed to allow AI applications to connect with external systems and data sources. Through the new integration, Awery ERP users can query authorised company data directly through their preferred AI platform rather than relying on manual data extraction and reporting processes.
AI Access to Cargo Data
Ask Awery is designed to make data held within the Awery ERP more accessible to air cargo businesses while allowing users to retain their existing workflows and AI-tool preferences.
Users can, for example, ask an AI assistant to compile customer tonnage by lane for a particular period or analyse charter quotation conversion by customer over the previous 90 days. Awery said tasks that previously involved gathering and combining information from multiple sources can now be completed in seconds.
Vitaly Smilianets, Founder and CEO of Awery, said the objective is to make digital technology more practical for the people using it in their day-to-day operations.
The company said improved access to operational data can give users more time to analyse results and support decision-making, while reducing the resources required for routine reporting.
Read-Only Access and Existing Permissions
Data security and access control are built into the integration. Awery said Ask Awery provides read-only access, with permissions governed by each user’s existing rights within the ERP platform.
This means users can only retrieve information they are already authorised to view in Awery ERP. The approach allows AI-assisted data analysis without giving the connected AI tools the ability to modify underlying ERP records.
Awery ERP brings operational, commercial and financial processes together on a single platform, providing the underlying data environment for Ask Awery.
From Data Retrieval to Automated Reporting
Awery said the beta launch could represent an early stage in a broader move towards AI-assisted automation within cargo management systems.
Looking ahead, Smilianets said the company sees potential for AI agents to handle recurring reporting and routine data checks. Under the proposed model, customers could have agents compile reports on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, reducing repetitive administrative work and allowing teams to focus more closely on decisions supported by the data.
The development reflects a wider shift in aviation technology towards connecting existing enterprise systems with AI tools rather than requiring businesses to replace established software platforms.
For air cargo operators, where commercial, operational and financial information is often spread across multiple workflows, direct access to authorised ERP data could streamline reporting and accelerate analysis.
Beta Functionality Available to Customers
Ask Awery is currently available as beta functionality. According to Awery, customers can request access through their account managers or the company’s support channel.
The launch adds an AI interface to Awery’s existing ERP environment while maintaining the platform’s established access controls, giving cargo businesses a way to query their own operational data through widely used AI assistants.
As the technology develops, the company is positioning AI agents and automated reporting as potential next steps in reducing repetitive data-management tasks across aviation and air cargo operations.
