ECS Group has appointed Eric St Amand as Chief Operating Officer for the Americas, strengthening its regional leadership structure as the air cargo general sales and service agent (GSSA) pursues further growth across North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Announced on 24 August 2026, the appointment places St Amand in charge of regional operations, with responsibility for working alongside local teams, airline partners and the wider commercial network to improve operational performance and support the group’s expansion.
St Amand brings more than 27 years of international experience in supply chain management, transportation and logistics. Before joining ECS Group, he served as Americas Vice President and President of Geodis Supply Chain Optimization in the United States. He also held several senior executive positions at IBM.
His background includes operational leadership, commercial development, profit-and-loss management and business transformation, experience ECS Group expects to draw on as it strengthens its presence across the Americas.
Jean Ceccaldi, chief executive of ECS Group, said the appointment represented an important step in the continued development of the company’s regional operations. He highlighted St Amand’s combination of operational expertise, commercial understanding and international leadership experience.
The Americas remain a strategic growth region for ECS Group, which provides cargo sales, marketing and related services on behalf of airline customers. Its regional strategy centres on combining local market knowledge with coordinated operations and the resources of its wider international network.
As part of the leadership transition, Paco Ortega, who previously held regional responsibilities, was scheduled to work alongside St Amand during the handover period. Ortega’s subsequent role would focus more heavily on strategic projects across the Americas and the wider group, allowing ECS Group to retain his regional experience and customer relationships.
St Amand said his priorities would include supporting airline partners, strengthening operational standards and identifying further opportunities for regional growth.
The appointment reflects ECS Group’s focus on developing a more coordinated operating structure across the Americas while maintaining the local expertise and customer relationships required in the region’s diverse air cargo markets.
