AeroLogic, the joint venture between DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo, has announced the appointment of Marcus Niedermeyer as its new second Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, effective January 1, 2025. Niedermeyer, who has been serving in an interim capacity since July 2024, will oversee the company’s Finance, Human Resources, IT, and Administration departments.
Niedermeyer succeeds Katharina Prost, who held the role from October 2022 to July 2024. Alongside Niedermeyer, Josef Moser, who has been with AeroLogic since 2008, will continue in his position as Managing Director and Accountable Manager, a role he has held since May 2017.
With over 29 years of professional experience both within and outside the Lufthansa Group, Niedermeyer brings a wealth of expertise to his new position. Prior to joining AeroLogic, he was the Managing Director of Air Mail Center Frankfurt GmbH from 2018 to June 2024. He also held various management roles at Lufthansa Cargo during his career.
Frank Bauer, Chief Financial Officer of Lufthansa Cargo, expressed his confidence in Niedermeyer’s appointment, stating, “We are delighted to welcome Marcus Niedermeyer as an experienced manager to AeroLogic. His extensive expertise and commitment will undoubtedly help drive the company forward and strengthen AeroLogic’s market position.”
Bauer further emphasized the success of the joint venture, citing nearly 18 years of safe, reliable, and efficient flight operations, as well as steady fleet growth for both partners. “We will continue to build on the excellent cooperation and offer outstanding service to our customers.”
Travis Cobb, Executive Vice President of Global Network Operations and Aviation at DHL Express, also praised the appointment. “AeroLogic is of great strategic importance to DHL Express. With Marcus Niedermeyer, we welcome back an experienced and accomplished expert to the ranks of AeroLogic. We wish him the greatest success in his new role.”
