After 27 years of operation,  AeroUnion unveils its new identity.

In a strategic move to reinforce its global connectivity and regional leadership, AeroUnion has officially unveiled its new brand identity: Avianca Cargo Mexico. The rebranding marks a pivotal chapter in the carrier’s 27-year history and aims to elevate Mexico’s role as a key air cargo hub linking Latin America, the U.S. West Coast, and major global markets.

While maintaining its existing corporate and regulatory structure, Avianca Cargo Mexico will operate under a renewed identity that reflects international best practices and a customer-centric service model. The transformation is supported by enhanced operational capabilities, a modernised fleet, and strengthened synergies with Avianca Cargo.

“Our commitment to meeting customer needs with excellence, agility, and reliability defines this new brand launch,” said Danilo Correa, CEO of Avianca Cargo Mexico. “Avianca Cargo Mexico arrives with a strong value proposition and an expanded network that connects Mexico to the world.”

Strengthened Fleet and Expanded Connectivity

Coinciding with the brand launch, the airline welcomed its second A330-300P2F freighter on June 20, significantly boosting its widebody capacity. With a payload of over 60 tonnes, the aircraft is equipped to handle a diverse mix of cargo, including oversized shipments and temperature-sensitive goods—a vital offering for industries such as pharmaceuticals, perishables, electronics, and automotive components.

The expanded fleet enhances Avianca Cargo Mexico’s ability to serve critical trade lanes, connecting Mexico to strategic markets such as the United States, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and key destinations across Europe and Asia through its commercial and interline partnerships.

“We celebrate the launch of Avianca Cargo Mexico as a brand that brings together capacity, commercial alliances, and network synergy,” said Diogo Elias, CEO of Avianca Cargo. “This unified offering now connects more than 350 destinations worldwide, empowering customers across sectors with greater flexibility and reach.”

Operational Independence with Strategic Integration

Although rebranded, Avianca Cargo Mexico retains independent ownership, operational licenses, and its technical, financial, and labor infrastructure. The move is not a merger but rather a brand alignment and strategic partnership with Avianca Cargo, leveraging the strengths of both carriers to optimise network reach and service consistency.

The joint capacity now includes two A330P2F aircraft operated by Avianca Cargo Mexico and six A330Fs from Avianca Cargo, enabling robust frequency and payload options tailored to high-growth trade flows.

Elevating Industry Standards in Mexico

With the adoption of internationally benchmarked practices and operational excellence standards, Avianca Cargo Mexico positions itself as a next-generation carrier, ready to meet the demands of global shippers seeking agile, compliant, and scalable logistics solutions.

“This milestone reflects the dedication and expertise of our people,” added Correa. “Their passion has built a brand that not only expands our network but signals a new era of opportunity for air cargo in Mexico.”

A New Chapter for Mexican Airfreight

The launch of Avianca Cargo Mexico comes at a time when Mexico’s logistics sector is witnessing strong momentum, fuelled by nearshoring trends and increased cross-border trade with the U.S. The country is increasingly seen as a strategic logistics corridor, and Avianca Cargo Mexico’s enhanced capabilities signal growing confidence in its role within the global cargo value chain.

For senior decision-makers and logistics leaders, this rebranding represents more than a new name—it signals the consolidation of operational strength, regional connectivity, and global ambition.

With expanded infrastructure, strategic partnerships, and an unwavering focus on reliability and innovation, Avianca Cargo Mexico is set to become a cornerstone of airfreight in the Americas.
