The restart strengthens cargo transportation options between these two key markets, offering logistical solutions for sectors such as automotive, aerospace, perishables, and pharmaceuticals.
Awesome Cargo, an airline based at Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU) serving Mexico City, announced the resumption of its flights to China via Los Angeles.
The flights, operating twice a week, are conducted with Airbus A330-200 aircraft, departing from AIFA at 12:35 PM to arrive at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (CGO) at 12:45 AM the following day, according to the schedule published by the company. The return to AIFA includes stops in Seoul-Incheon and Anchorage.

“Now Latin American customers can seamlessly connect their shipments of perishables and pharmaceuticals to Los Angeles (LAX) and China. Customers in the automotive and aerospace sectors in Guadalajara (GDL) will have the opportunity to connect with the Japanese market through LAX, and AIFA will gain another direct export window to CGO in China,” the airline highlighted in a post on its LinkedIn page.
The post also highlighted Awesome Cargo’s incorporation into the IATA Clearing House, enabling the signing of agreements with other member airlines.
Awesome Cargo operates two Airbus A330-200 aircraft (XA-DUR and XA-LRL) in its fleet and has already signed for the addition of a third.
The Mexico City-located airline said: “Awesome Cargo in conjunction with ARC Global Logistics Inc. are thrilled to announce the launch of the first-ever regular cargo flight transporting perishables from Tijuana (TIJ) to Zhengzhou (CGO) starting this Tuesday, May 6th.
“This groundbreaking flight will connect Mexico and China in just under 15 hours.” The flight serving the new route will take place every Tuesday evening, said the airline, based at Felipe Angeles International Airport. Awesome did not confirm what aircraft would be used on the route, but according to Planespotters, the airline has just one Airbus A330-200F currently in service.
Awesome moves general cargo, pharma, e-commerce, live animals and perishables shipments. It also offers Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI), CMI and charter options.
The airline currently offers domestic routes, as well as flights to Asia Pacific and Latin America. In October 2023, Awesome was granted permission from Mexico’s civil aviation regulator (AFAC) to operate chartered passenger and cargo flights.

At the beginning of last year, Awesome also requested a US foreign air carrier permit to expand its Airbus A330 operations to the US. In December, Aweome started twice-weekly flights to Los Angeles (LAX) and Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (CGO).
California-based ARC transports shipments across a range of verticals, including perishables, medical devices and equipment, aircraft parts and engines, and automobiles. At the beginning of May, cool chain forwarding specialist Seafrigo said it would open new offices in Chile as part of efforts to expand in Latin America.
