Three new people have been elected to the board of directors of the British International Freight Association (BIFA).

The three new board members are Denise Hill, Ian Mallon and Chris Packwood who will bring a “wealth of experience and insight to the association”, said BIFA.

Denise Hill is BIFA’s member engagement director and oversees and develops the association’s interaction with its membership in regards to the services it provides and how they are delivered.

Ian Mallon is managing director of Neon Freight and joins the BIFA Board with over two decades of experience in the logistics and freight forwarding industry.

“Ian’s expertise in global logistics, coupled with his strategic vision, will be invaluable in helping BIFA’s Board to help the trade association navigate the complexities of the modern freight industry and advocate for its members’ interests,” BIFA said.

Meanwhile, Chris Packwood, managing director of Geodis UK, has a “deep understanding of both the operational and strategic aspects of the freight industry”.

“His comprehensive knowledge of international trade and logistics will strengthen BIFA’s efforts to support its members through advocacy, training, and industry leadership,” BIFA said.

Steve Parker, chairman of BIFA, said: “Their extensive experience and leadership in the freight forwarding industry will be instrumental in guiding BIFA’s strategic direction and supporting our mission to represent and promote the interests of UK freight forwarders.

“Their appointments come at a pivotal time as we continue to navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by the global trade environment.”
