CACC Cargolinx team has successfully handled the first Covid-19 vaccine shipment to arrive at Cairo International Airport onboard Emirates Sky Cargo’s aircraft on December 10. In order to safeguard the integrity of such a sensitive product, the team has been prepared to receive the vaccine shipment prior to flight arrival, which was then immediately loaded to CACC Cargolinx’ cool dollies on tarmac to ensure a seamless cool chain until its direct delivery to the consignee in a perfect condition.

CACC Cargolinx’ terminals at Cairo International Airport feature 9,000 sqm fully temperature-controlled terminals covering both import and export and both the terminals – including inspection areas – are thermally mapped and equipped by temperature loggers. The temperature- controlled storage rooms have adjustable temperature ranges and adequate freezers with a team of experts working on a 24/7-basis.

The airport also has 10 cool dollies ensuring a seamless cool chain during tarmac transportation (the cool dollies accommodate all lower deck contours including AMF & ALF). It also has licensed and regulated terminals, and a certified team by key quality and pharma certifications including CEIV Pharma (recently successfully re-validated) and Envirotainer Ground Services Award for handling life science products.

With an adequate number of active containers’ plugs, priority handling and storage solutions, compliance with local and global product and regulatory requirements, availability of end-to-end pharma handling solutions and 24/7 surveillance, alarm system, access control and security personnel, they are ready.

CACC team has said it is pleased to work with all airlines and charter companies to overcome the Covid-19 crisis. They also ensure that all our temperature control capabilities, processes and teams are ready and willing to support all the concerned stakeholders in the supply chain to guarantee that vaccines are safely received and kept at the required conditions.
