Cainiao Group has expanded its international e-commerce logistics portfolio with the launch of a Global Three-Day Delivery service, offering door-to-door parcel delivery within 72 hours across 15 international trade lanes.
The new service is designed to provide merchants with faster and more cost-effective cross-border shipping, leveraging Cainiao’s integrated global logistics network spanning air cargo, ground transportation, customs clearance and fulfilment operations. The launch has been confirmed through an official company announcement.
72-Hour Delivery Across Key Trade Corridors
The Global Three-Day Delivery service connects China with major European destinations, supports intra-European shipments and covers selected Middle East trade lanes.
Among the initial routes are:
- Hong Kong – United Kingdom
- Hong Kong – Netherlands
- Germany – France
- Germany – Netherlands
- Germany – Luxembourg
- Saudi Arabia – United Arab Emirates
According to Cainiao, the service enables parcels ordered in the evening on the Hong Kong–UK corridor to be packed the following morning, transported by air the same day and delivered shortly after arrival at the destination.
Powered by an Integrated Global Network
The new offering is supported by Cainiao’s extensive logistics infrastructure, which combines warehousing, customs processing and multimodal transportation to accelerate international parcel movements.
The company’s global logistics network currently includes:
- Around 170 charter flights and block space agreements (BSAs) every week
- More than 2,300 trucking routes worldwide
- The Hong Kong eHub, which enables direct transfer of parcels from fulfilment centres to aircraft, reducing handling time and improving transit efficiency.
This integrated model enables express-level international delivery speeds that were previously associated primarily with premium courier services.
Supporting Cross-Border E-Commerce Growth
Cainiao believes faster international delivery will help online retailers improve supply chain efficiency by reducing inventory requirements, accelerating cash flow and enabling more frequent stock replenishment.
Xiong Wei, Senior Vice President of Cainiao Group, said delivery speed has become a strategic competitive advantage in global e-commerce.
“Cross-border e-commerce is moving from a stage where access to products was enough to one where the full customer experience determines competitiveness. Delivery speed is no longer just a fulfilment metric. It is now a key factor affecting consumer choice, merchant working capital and the structure of competition. When 72-hour door-to-door delivery becomes an affordable everyday option for more sellers, it changes how cross-border trade is organised.”
Expanding Express Logistics Portfolio
The Global Three-Day Delivery service builds on Cainiao’s existing international logistics products, following the earlier introduction of its Global Five-Day Delivery and Global Ten-Day Delivery solutions.
The latest launch reflects the company’s continued investment in premium cross-border logistics services as merchants increasingly seek faster fulfilment options to improve customer satisfaction and compete in international online retail markets.
Evolving E-Commerce Air Cargo Landscape
The launch comes at a time when global e-commerce supply chains are undergoing significant changes.
Recent market data from WorldACD showed that air cargo volumes between Hong Kong and Europe declined following the European Union’s introduction of a charge on low-value e-commerce imports, which has softened demand on several Asia–Europe trade lanes.
Similarly, China–US e-commerce traffic was affected after the United States ended its de minimis exemption for low-value imports, although cargo volumes on the corridor have since shown signs of recovery.
Against this backdrop, logistics providers are increasingly focusing on value-added services, network optimisation and faster transit times to maintain competitiveness as global e-commerce markets evolve.
By combining dedicated air cargo capacity, integrated fulfilment operations and digital supply chain management, Cainiao aims to strengthen its position in the premium cross-border logistics segment while supporting the growing demand for rapid international parcel delivery.
