Deutsche Aircraft has appointed Wolfgang Kuhl as Vice President, Programs & Innovation, strengthening its executive leadership as the D328eco enters a critical phase of design and industrialisation.
Kuhl, who has been with Deutsche Aircraft since 2023 as Director of the D328eco program, brings a proven track record of guiding complex aerospace projects. During his tenure, he oversaw key design and industrial milestones, spearheaded the re-industrialisation of the Dornier 328 platform, and reinforced the technical and commercial foundations of the program.
Prior to joining Deutsche Aircraft, Kuhl held senior positions at Airbus Defence and Space, where he contributed to major multinational UAV defence programmes. His expertise in managing complex aerospace deliveries and multi-market programs underpins his expanded remit, which includes overseeing the full programme portfolio and driving the company’s product roadmap.
In his new role, Kuhl will focus on advancing the D328eco, enhancing multi-role capabilities, and expanding the platform’s applicability in defence-related operations. He will also lead the integration of advanced technologies into future aircraft, drive cross-company innovation initiatives, and secure strategic partnerships to strengthen Deutsche Aircraft’s position as a provider of versatile civil and defence platforms.
“I’m pleased to step into the role of Vice President Programs & Innovation at Deutsche Aircraft,” Kuhl said. “Building on my experience leading the D328eco, I look forward to taking on broader responsibilities and continuing to deliver innovative, resilient aviation solutions. Strengthening multi-role capabilities, particularly for defence applications, will be a key focus as we respond to evolving global needs.”
Nico Neumann added: “Wolfgang has been instrumental in advancing the D328eco and shaping Deutsche Aircraft as a next-generation OEM. In his expanded role, he will also drive the development of the D328MR for multi-role and defence applications, integrating advanced technologies, advancing sustainability initiatives, and reinforcing our product strategy. We are confident that his leadership will accelerate our growth across civil and defence aviation while delivering climate-friendly regional aircraft solutions.”
Deutsche Aircraft continues to support the global Dornier 328 fleet while accelerating the development of the D328eco, a next-generation regional turboprop designed for efficiency, sustainability, and versatility. Kuhl’s appointment underscores the company’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and expanding its footprint in both civil and defence aviation markets.
