Korean Air has renewed its certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA)’s Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma), reaffirming its commitment to the highest global standards in pharmaceutical transport.
The CEIV Pharma certification, regarded as the benchmark for quality and reliability in the handling and transportation of pharmaceutical products, involves a rigorous assessment by international experts across more than 280 criteria. These include transportation procedures, storage conditions, equipment, and regulatory compliance.
Korean Air first earned its CEIV Pharma certification in June 2019 and played a vital role during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring the safe global delivery of vaccines and critical medical supplies.
This latest renewal marks the airline’s second recertification since 2022. For the 2025 evaluation, Korean Air established a dedicated task force to comprehensively review and strengthen every stage of its pharmaceutical logistics process. The airline refined its operational manuals, enhanced internal protocols, and reinforced inspection systems to align with the latest international standards.
Through these continuous improvements, Korean Air underscores its ongoing commitment to maintaining the integrity and safety of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical shipments across its global network.
