Mexican freighter operator MasAir Cargo has started operations for DHL Express utilising one of its Boeing 767 freighters.
As part of an ACMI deal, the airline began operating a six-times-per-week service for the express firm from Los Angeles to Guadalajara and on to Ciudad de México, then returning to Los Angeles.
“Everyone at MasAir and especially the ACMI division team is pleased to have gained the trust of a great company like DHL Express. This is a big step in achieving MasAir’s goal to position itself as the leading ACMI provider in the region,” said Ernesto Ramirez, part of MasAir’s ACMI division leadership team.
Jon Olin, vice president aviation of DHL Express Americas, said “We see MasAir as a great airline partner in Mexico and the Americas region and we look forward to MasAir’s high operational standards to serve our express customers, while meeting our own strict standards of safety and reliability.”
The company recently doubled its freighter fleet to two B767-300F aircraft through a deal with ATSG.
Meanwhile, it also has plans to operate services to Europe and has obtained a third-country operators certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
