SAS Cargo has appointed Allied Aviation as its General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA) in India, with the agreement taking effect on October 1, 2026, as the Scandinavian carrier launches non-stop services between Copenhagen and Mumbai.
The new GSSA appointment will support SAS Cargo’s five-weekly Copenhagen-Mumbai services, with Allied Aviation responsible for cargo sales, supervision and revenue optimisation across the Indian market.
SAS Cargo has confirmed that its non-stop Copenhagen-Mumbai service is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2026. The route will provide Indian cargo customers with direct connectivity to Copenhagen and onward access to the carrier’s wider Scandinavian network.
Allied Aviation Executive Director Kritika Seth said the appointment would add the carrier to the company’s airline portfolio and create additional cargo connectivity between India and Scandinavia.
“This is an important addition to our airline portfolio, giving Indian exporters direct capacity into Copenhagen and access to SAS Cargo’s wider network across Scandinavia and beyond,” Seth said.
The GSSA will target a range of commodities on the new service, including pharmaceuticals, perishables, engineering products and machinery, garments and e-commerce shipments.
Allied Aviation said its established relationships with freight forwarders across India would be used to develop cargo volumes for the new route and support SAS Cargo’s expansion in the Indian market.
Nationwide sales network
Allied Aviation will support SAS Cargo’s cargo sales activities through offices covering key Indian markets, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
The Mumbai service adds India to SAS Cargo’s expanding international network. The carrier describes itself as a specialist provider of air freight and air mail solutions to, from and within Scandinavia, with cargo capacity across its passenger network and dedicated road feeder services.
SAS Cargo operates cargo services to and from approximately 136 destinations in 31 countries and says it transports more than 55,000 tonnes of goods annually. The carrier also maintains pharmaceutical handling capabilities, including IATA CEIV certification.
Copenhagen will serve as the key European gateway for the new India service. SAS Cargo’s Copenhagen operation provides specialised handling for pharmaceuticals, perishables, valuables, dangerous goods and other specialised shipments.
The new Mumbai connection is expected to provide additional air freight options for Indian exporters serving Scandinavian and wider European markets, while giving SAS Cargo a direct presence in one of Asia’s major air cargo markets.
For Allied Aviation, the appointment expands its role in the Indian cargo market and adds SAS Cargo’s Scandinavian network to its portfolio as demand for international air freight connectivity continues to develop.
