SpiceJet adds Sulaymaniyah, Almaty & Doha to its international cargo network

  • Operated two flights to Qatar today carrying over 20 tons of pharma, perishables and cargo supplies
  • Carried around 17 tons of cargo supplies and relief goods to Iraq
  • Carried over 14 tons of pharma and cargo to Kazakhstan
  • SpiceJet has transported 15,200 tons of cargo since nation-wide lockdown began

SpiceJet, the country’s biggest air cargo operator, has added Sulaymaniyah, Almaty & Doha to its international cargo network. The airline today operated two cargo flights from Mumbai to Doha carrying over 20 tons of pharma, perishables and cargo supplies.

SpiceJet carried over 14 tons of pharma and cargo supplies to Almaty from Delhi while it carried around 17 tons of cargo and relief goods to Sulaymaniyah from Sharjah. For all these flights, the airline deployed its Boeing 737 freighter aircraft.

The airline has transported over 15,200 tons of cargo on more than 2160 flights since the nation-wide lockdown began.

Ajay Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, SpiceJet, said, “With Almaty, Sulaymaniyah and Doha we have further expanded our fast growing cargo network in the Middle East and CIS boosting the supply chain in these unprecedented times.”

SpiceJet has operated special cargo flights to and from Abu Dhabi, Baghdad, Bahrain,  Bangkok, Bishkek, Cambodia, Cairo, Cebu, Colombo, Dhaka, Dubai, Guangzhou, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Huangzhou, Incheon, Jakarta, Kabul, Kathmandu, Khartoum, Kyrgyzstan, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait, Male, Myanmar, Shanghai, Singapore, Sharjah, Tashkent, Ukraine, and a host of other places.’

SpiceJet operated the country’s first cargo-on-seat flight on April 7 carrying vital supplies in passenger cabin & belly space. Since then, the airline has been regularly deploying its B737 and Q400 passenger aircraft to carry cargo in the passenger cabin.

SpiceXpress, SpiceJet’s dedicated cargo arm, has been regularly transporting surgical supplies, sanitizers, face masks, coronavirus rapid test kits, IR thermometers, etc. and providing doorstep deliveries of essential supplies, medicines, and medical equipment to various cities in India. The airline has helped Indian farmers maintain continuity of their supply chains by operating special cargo flights to take farm produce, fresh fruits and vegetables to various domestic and international destinations.
