Volga-Dnepr Group’s (the Group) delegates have visited Kitakyushu City Government (Japan) to discuss further steps of cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which was signed last year between the Group and Kitakyushu City Government/Fukuoka Prefectural Government.
Following the ease of COVID-19 restrictions Volga-Dnepr Group’s Director for APAC Development, Dmitry Vorontsov has met with Kenji Kitahashi, Mayor of Kitakyushu City to touch base on the current state of MoU implementation and identify the next steps of the cooperation.
The MoU embraces activities of both parties aimed at the development of the air cargo ecosystem utilizing Kitakyushu Airport which is a 24-hour offshore airport and one of the few airports in Japan with sea and air transport facilities. With Volga-Dnepr operating fleet of unique wide-body freighters, An-124-100/150, Boeing 747F, and Boeing 777F, Kitakyushu Airport reviews the possibility to extend the existing runway to 3,000 m to stimulate the growth of the air cargo operations.
