  • Virgin Atlantic Cargo has partnered with CargoAi to offer forwarders seamless digital access to its global capacity, enabling real-time rates, bookable space, and streamlined eBookings across major markets.
  • The integration supports Virgin’s digital transformation, expanding its online offering to over 23,000 freight forwarders with upcoming Pharma and Fresh product capabilities.
  • Both companies aim to deliver a faster, more intuitive, and customer-focused booking experience, combining Virgin’s service excellence with CargoAi’s API-driven technology.

In a strategic move that underscores the growing digitalisation of the global air cargo industry, Virgin Atlantic Cargo has announced a partnership with CargoAi, a leading digital platform that connects airlines and freight forwarders through real-time, API-driven technology.

The collaboration gives freight forwarders seamless digital access to Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s worldwide capacity — enabling instant rate visibility, live space booking, and automated eBooking confirmations across key global markets. For Virgin Atlantic Cargo, the integration represents a significant step forward in its mission to simplify the booking experience while expanding its digital presence within the airfreight ecosystem.

Bringing the Power of Digital Connectivity to Freight Forwarders

Through this partnership, forwarders across major markets — including the UAE, Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, the UK, the US, Ireland, India, the Netherlands, and South Africa — can now view and book Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s available capacity directly on CargoAi’s digital marketplace, CargoMART, or via direct connections to leading Transport Management Systems (TMS).

The integration initially supports General Cargo shipments up to 5,000 kilograms, with Pharma and Fresh products soon to follow, reflecting Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s broader strategy to deliver a more comprehensive digital product portfolio for its customers.

By combining Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s operational reliability and customer service excellence with CargoAi’s technology-driven efficiency, the partnership creates a fully digital booking experience that is faster, smarter, and more intuitive — catering to a new generation of forwarders who demand real-time responsiveness and transparency.

Enhancing Customer Experience Through Digital Innovation

“Partnering with CargoAi is a key milestone in our digital transformation journey,” said Nick Diesel, Managing Director – Cargo at Virgin Atlantic Cargo. “The logistics landscape is evolving rapidly, and our customers expect flexible, intuitive tools that help them move cargo efficiently across the world. By integrating with CargoAi, we’re giving freight forwarders more choice in how they connect with us — whether through our own systems, through CargoMART, or their preferred TMS platforms.”

Diesel emphasized that while technology is driving the shift, the company’s focus remains firmly on people and service: “Digitalisation for us isn’t just about automation; it’s about empowerment — helping our teams and our customers work smarter. Alongside this partnership, we’ve strengthened our Contact Centre operations to ensure that while bookings become faster and more digital, our personal touch remains just as strong.”

Connecting the Dots Across a Growing Digital Ecosystem

For CargoAi, the addition of Virgin Atlantic Cargo to its growing airline portfolio represents another milestone in its mission to modernize the global airfreight industry.

Matthieu Petot, CEO of CargoAi, highlighted the strategic importance of the collaboration: “Integrating Virgin Atlantic Cargo into CargoAi’s platform is a major step toward a fully connected, digital cargo ecosystem. Virgin’s reputation for operational excellence and customer service aligns perfectly with our vision — to create a frictionless, data-driven, and customer-centric booking experience that sets new benchmarks for the industry.”

CargoAi’s digital ecosystem connects airlines and freight forwarders through an intelligent API infrastructure that allows real-time data exchange, simplifying processes that traditionally relied on manual communication. With more than 23,000 freight forwarders using the platform globally, the integration instantly extends Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s reach and digital visibility across a broad network of logistics professionals.

A Broader Shift Toward Digitalisation in Air Cargo

The partnership also reflects a broader trend within the air cargo sector — a steady acceleration toward digital transformation and end-to-end transparency. As the industry faces increasing demand for speed, flexibility, and sustainability, airlines are investing heavily in platforms that make booking, tracking, and managing cargo more efficient.

For Virgin Atlantic Cargo, this move complements its ongoing efforts to optimize operations, reduce manual processes, and enhance the customer journey across every stage of freight management. From expanding its product range to implementing data-driven insights, the carrier is positioning itself at the forefront of a digital revolution reshaping how cargo moves globally.

Setting a New Benchmark for Digital Freight Booking

By joining forces, Virgin Atlantic Cargo and CargoAi are not only creating a smoother booking pathway for freight forwarders — they are setting a new benchmark for transparency, connectivity, and customer experience in the digital cargo marketplace.

The collaboration underscores Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s ongoing commitment to innovation and adaptability, while reaffirming CargoAi’s role as a trusted digital partner for leading airlines worldwide.

As the air cargo industry continues to evolve, partnerships like this one highlight a shared vision: building a smarter, more connected logistics ecosystem — where technology enhances, rather than replaces, the human relationships that keep global trade moving.
