Oman Air Cargo has strengthened its commercial leadership structure with the appointment of Gokul Sudamani as Regional Head of Sales for the Middle East and Gulf, a newly created role designed to accelerate regional growth and deepen engagement with freight forwarding partners.
The appointment forms part of the airline’s broader strategy to expand its cargo footprint across key markets in the Middle East and Gulf while reinforcing service offerings for logistics partners and shippers operating through the region’s major air freight corridors. Gokul Sudamani will focus on strengthening relationships with customers and strategic partners while supporting the continued expansion of the carrier’s network and operational capabilities.
With more than 18 years of experience in the global air cargo industry, Sudamani brings extensive expertise across high-volume markets in the Middle East and Gulf. His background includes leadership roles in account management and stakeholder engagement within the aviation logistics sector, equipping him with strong commercial and customer-facing experience in complex cargo markets.
Speaking on his appointment, Sudamani said the airline is entering a period of strong growth and increased market engagement.
“Oman Air Cargo is building strong momentum, and I look forward to working closely with customers and partners across the region as we continue to expand our network and capabilities,” he said.
“The Middle East and Gulf remain vital markets for our business, and I am excited to collaborate with partners to deliver flexible and reliable solutions for customers.”
The new leadership role comes at a time when Oman Air is investing in network expansion and capacity development to strengthen its cargo operations. The airline has recently announced the launch of new routes, including services to Singapore and Kigali, aimed at enhancing connectivity across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. These additions are expected to support growing demand for air freight movement through the region’s strategic transit hubs.
According to Michael Duggan, Head of Cargo at Oman Air, the Middle East continues to play a pivotal role in global logistics networks.
“The Middle East is a unique market, acting as a global transit hub while continuing to grow as a destination in its own right,” Duggan said. “This new role reflects our commitment to the region as we continue to expand the network, functioning as a key hub both globally and regionally.”
Based in Dubai, Sudamani’s position is expected to drive closer collaboration with freight forwarders, logistics providers, and cargo partners across the Gulf region, ensuring the airline’s commercial strategy aligns with evolving market demand and supply chain requirements.
As part of its ongoing industry engagement, Oman Air Cargo is also participating in the upcoming Air Cargo India 2026 in Mumbai, scheduled from February 25–27, where the airline will showcase its expanding network capabilities and cargo solutions to the global logistics community.
The creation of this senior sales role signals the carrier’s intent to reinforce its commercial presence in the Middle East while positioning its cargo division as a key connector between global trade lanes spanning Asia, Africa, and Europe.
