Pradeep Panicker Takes Charge at Delhi Airport
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has named Pradeep Panicker as its President and Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership transition at India’s largest and busiest airport. The appointment became effective on June 1, 2026, and follows Panicker’s successful tenure as President and CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airport, where he served from June 2020 until May 2026.
Panicker assumes leadership of Delhi Airport at a time when the airport is witnessing strong passenger growth, expanding international connectivity, increasing cargo volumes and ongoing infrastructure investments aimed at strengthening its status as a leading global aviation hub.
His move to Delhi also coincides with a leadership transition at Hyderabad Airport, where Kadhir Kadhiravan has taken over as Chief Executive Officer.
Extensive Experience Across Airport Operations and Cargo
Widely regarded as one of the most experienced airport executives within the GMR Group, Panicker brings more than 20 years of expertise spanning airport development, commercial strategy, airline partnerships, cargo operations and infrastructure management.
Before leading Hyderabad Airport, he served as Deputy CEO of the airport between 2018 and 2020, helping drive operational efficiency, commercial growth and strategic expansion initiatives.
His earlier tenure at Delhi Airport is particularly significant. As Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer (Aero & Property Development) at DIAL, Panicker was responsible for a broad portfolio that included airline marketing, aeronautical business development, air cargo operations, property development and commercial asset management. His leadership contributed to strengthening Delhi Airport’s position as a major passenger and cargo gateway connecting India with global markets.
Instrumental in Delhi Airport’s Transformation Journey
Panicker’s association with Delhi Airport dates back to the inception of the airport modernization project. He was part of the GMR-Fraport consortium team that successfully secured the bid to modernize and operate Indira Gandhi International Airport and played a key role in the airport’s transition from the Airports Authority of India in 2006.
Over the years, he has been closely involved in shaping the airport’s operational, commercial and strategic growth. Beginning as Head of Strategic Process, he later assumed leadership positions focused on airline partnerships, cargo development and commercial business initiatives, helping transform Delhi Airport into one of the most advanced aviation hubs in the region.

Beyond passenger aviation, Panicker is widely recognized within the cargo and logistics sector for his longstanding contribution to India’s air freight industry.
He was the founding President of the Air Cargo Forum India (ACFI), an industry body established to provide a collaborative platform for stakeholders across the air cargo value chain. Under its framework, the organization has worked on issues including cargo process simplification, digital transformation, domestic cargo growth, transshipment development, benchmarking, innovation and express logistics.
