Air Canada Cargo has appointed Nicolas Saignat as Senior Director, Cargo Sales – Americas, giving him responsibility for the carrier’s commercial activities across Canada, the United States and Latin America.
Based at Air Canada Cargo’s headquarters in Montréal, Saignat will focus on strengthening relationships with customers, supporting freight forwarders and shippers, and driving growth in key markets across the Americas.
Extensive air cargo experience
Saignat brings more than two decades of experience in air cargo, logistics and commercial management. His career includes senior positions with Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo, WestJet Cargo and CEVA Logistics.
Most recently, he served as Vice President, Airfreight Product Management, North America at CEVA Logistics.
His previous experience includes leading regional commercial teams, developing airfreight products, building strategic partnerships and supporting business growth in competitive markets.
Air Canada Cargo said his background would support its focus on providing customers with market expertise and reliable, responsive service across the region.
Focus on customer relationships
Matthieu Casey, Managing Director, Commercial at Air Canada Cargo, said Saignat’s commercial experience and knowledge of the air cargo market would be important as the carrier works to strengthen customer relationships and expand across the Americas.
Saignat’s appointment comes as Air Canada continues to develop its cargo network across North and Latin America. Air Canada Cargo operates a combination of passenger belly capacity and dedicated freighter services, providing connections to markets across six continents.
The carrier has also been expanding its cargo network and partnerships in the Americas, including efforts to improve connectivity between Canada and Latin American markets.
In his new role, Saignat will oversee the commercial side of that regional network, with a focus on responding to changing shipper and forwarder requirements and supporting further cargo growth.
