Swissport’s air cargo handling team in Brussels, Belgium, has received the Cargo Ground Handler of the Year Award from Air Cargo Belgium. The recognition underlines Swissport’s outstanding performance in air cargo operations and reaffirms its position as a key player in pharmaceutical logistics in Belgium.

The recognition highlights Swissport’s outstanding performance in general air cargo operations and reinforces its leading role as a global provider of pharmaceutical logistics. The company has made a name for integrated cool chain logistics at its Swissport Pharma Centers, where it provides seamless services adhering to the highest industry standards.

Since establishing a presence in Belgium in 1990, Swissport has consistently expanded and currently operates a state-of-the-art 25,000 sqm air cargo center at Brussels Airport (BRU), which was fully refurbished and further enhanced in 2019 with the addition of a Swissport Pharma Center. Swissport in Brussels offers a comprehensive suite of services for over forty airlines, covering general and special cargo handling, temperature-controlled handling, hub handling, express services, and forwarder handling. In 2022 alone, a dedicated team of 286 Swissport employees successfully handled an impressive 200,000 tons of air cargo and serviced over 1,600 aircraft, significantly contributing to the robust performance of Swissport’s air cargo operations.
