The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) is working with event organisers EVA International Media to develop and promote the three-day event.

Budapest Airport (BUD) will host The International Air Cargo (TIACA)’s Executive Summit (ES) and Annual General Meeting from 19th to 21st of November 2019. TIACA is working with EVA International Media to organise its ES, which brings together decision makers from across the globe for a series of panel discussions, keynote speeches, and round table debates.

BUD will host an Opening Ceremony for its new dedicated freight centre, called BUD Cargo City, during the event, inviting delegates, customers, and suppliers to tour the facility, followed by a Gala Dinner at its historic Terminal One building.

TIACA’s Hall of Fame winner will be announced during the dinner.

“TIACA’s ES offers all sections of the air cargo community a forum to meet and discuss the challenges and opportunities in our dynamic industry,” said Sebastiaan Scholte, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jan de Rijk, and Chairman, TIACA.

“We are pleased to be visiting BUD at such an exciting time for the airport and are looking forward to providing a platform for the industry to look for ways to better collaborate.”

BUD Cargo City is part of the EUR160 million (HUF50 billion) BUD:2020 Development Programme at the Central Eastern European Hub, which services 45 airlines, and saw a throughput of 146,113 tonnes of cargo in 2018.

“We as the host are excited and extremely proud to announce that Budapest Airport is able to bring the 2019 TIACA Executive Summit to the city of Budapest, being selected after competing with other top locations worldwide and following previous prominent locations of TIACA events in Toronto, Miami, and Paris,” said Jost Lammers, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Budapest Airport.

“This is undoubtedly one of the most important events of the air cargo industry.

“That being said, this is a huge accomplishment, not only for Budapest Airport, but for the whole air cargo community of the Central and Eastern European region.”

“We hope that this event will create new business opportunities between the attendees, from which every senior member of the cargo community will benefit.”

René Droese, Executive Director Property and Cargo, Budapest Airport, added: “The summit will represent a beginning of a new chapter for our partners and for BUD in many respects. “We will organize our BUD Cargo City opening event as part of the ES.”

Nominations for TIACA’s Hall of Fame, which recognizes individuals who have made a difference to the global air cargo community, are now open
