The international transport and information logistics provider moved into its newly built office and warehouse at Budapest Airport on March 30.

As one of the first tenants of the recently completed “BUD Cargo City”, the company is significantly expanding the service portfolio and storage capacity of its Hungarian subsidiary.

cargo-partner in Hungary was established in 1994 as one of the group’s first foreign branches and has since developed into an important pillar in the company’s network. cargo-partner currently has just over 140 employees at three locations in Hungary. With the completed relocation of its airport branch to the newly built logistics center BUD Cargo City, the company will further strengthen its position in the country. cargo-partner is among the first tenants of the newly built, modernl warehousing facility, where the logistics provider benefits from ideal conditions for its services. In addition to this subsidiary, cargo-partner also has a head office in Budapest and maintains another warehouse in Gyál.

The new storage location offers pallet slots for temporary rack storage on over 1,200 m² of warehouse space, which represents a significant expansion of the available storage and processing space at Budapest Airport. An extended mezzanine enables high value processing on an additional 250 m². A further 400 m² of office space ensure reliable handling by cargo-partner’s staff and provide space for over 40 employees.

Situated directly at the airport, about 30 minutes from the city center of the Hungarian capital, the location also impresses with its close connection to the highway network. The warehouse provides a dedicated cross-docking area and five truck docks with high roller shutters for oversized cargo, offering the best conditions for daily pickup and delivery trips in the region. The option of temperature-controlled storage creates further added value for customers. In a later step, the logistics provider plans to set up a certified air cargo screening area to further speed up handling.

cargo-partner was interested in the warehouse project from the very beginning and sees this relocation as an opportunity to offer its customers improved, faster and therefore more competitive service on a larger floor space than before. In addition to regular departures from and to the most important air cargo hubs, cargo-partner also offers on-board courier (OBC) services, charter solutions, temperature-controlled transports as well as comprehensive competence in handling special and dangerous goods transports.

Attila Becze, cargo-partner’s Sub-Region Director for Hungary and Romania, emphasizes: “The expansion of our capacities reflects our commitment to the Central and Southern European market as well as the steadily increasing demand in this region. In recent years, BUD has been able to draw attention to itself with its ambitious development program as an air cargo hub. Against this background, we would like to position ourselves with our diverse range of services on the constantly growing local air freight market.”

cargo-partner has been active at Budapest Airport since its market entry 26 years ago and is now considered one of the leading logistics companies in Hungary with an extensive service portfolio and special focus on the areas of automotive, pharmaceuticals & healthcare, aircraft components, electronics and semiconductor technology. With a current warehouse capacity of 33,000 m², the Hungarian subsidiary can look back on a successful business year 2019, having handled a total of 26,000 TEU in seafreight, 8,000 t in air freight and 60,000 total shipments.
