Following the signing of a letter of intent last March, CEVA Logistics and the Mondadori Group have signed a new contract extending the partnership for another five years.

The new contract further extends the collaboration between the two companies, which began in May 2017 and covers a wide range of activities, including warehouse management, transport, order picking for eCommerce and returns. The CEVA Logistics Italia team will also continue to manage B2C orders for the Mondadori Group, intended directly to end consumers.

The main development of the new contract is the concentration of activities on behalf of the Mondadori Group in a dedicated and separate site in La Città del Libro (City of Books), located only 1.5 km away from the current plant. From the new warehouse – which will have a capacity of about 32,000 square metres – about 30 million copies per will be shipped and about 65,000 titles will be handled each year.

The new contract will start in March 2021 and will continue until February 2026. The transfer of activities to the new warehouse will begin shortly and will take place while guaranteeing distribution continuity.

“The extension of the contract with Mondadori for another 5 years is a very important sign that rewards our ability to provide logistics services guaranteeing precision, safety and reliability in the handling of goods and warehouse management”.

Christophe Boustouller, CEO of CEVA Logistics Italia, said: “We are very proud of this renewal, for which I would like to thank Ernesto Mauri, CEO of the Mondadori Group, the CEVA Italia team and of course the workers at Stradella, to whom we are happy to give a well deserved long-term perspective and a horizon of confidence and optimism”.
