DSV has strengthened its presence in the Middle East with the opening of a new 30,000 square metre warehouse and logistics facility at Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), reinforcing the company’s long-term expansion strategy across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
The new contract logistics hub, officially inaugurated on May 20, is strategically located in Jebel Ali South, placing it in close proximity to major deep-sea terminals, air cargo gateways and regional road transport corridors. The location is expected to enhance DSV’s multimodal logistics capabilities and support faster cargo movement between regional and international markets.
According to the company, the facility will serve as a key operational hub for integrated logistics services across the GCC and wider MEA region, supporting growing customer demand for scalable supply chain solutions in sectors including healthcare, retail, automotive and technology.
Strategic Expansion in One of the World’s Leading Trade Hubs
Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone remains one of the most strategically important logistics and trade hubs globally, connecting Asia, Europe and Africa through its integrated sea-air-road infrastructure and business-friendly operating environment.
By expanding its footprint within JAFZA, DSV is positioning itself closer to critical regional trade flows while strengthening its ability to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions for multinational and regional customers.
The company said the facility forms part of its broader regional growth strategy aimed at increasing operational capacity, enhancing service flexibility and improving scalability across its contract logistics operations.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by more than 100 customers, partners and industry stakeholders, highlighting the strategic importance of the investment within the regional logistics market.
The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and guided tours of the new warehouse, showcasing the facility’s operational setup, storage infrastructure and integrated supply chain capabilities.
Focus on Integrated and High-Performance Logistics Solutions
Elias Monem, CEO of Contract Logistics, Middle East & Africa at DSV, said the new facility reflects the company’s long-term commitment to supporting the rapidly evolving logistics requirements of customers across the region.
“This opening is a testament to DSV’s long-term commitment to the MEA region,” Monem stated. “The demand for integrated, high-performance logistics solutions has never been greater, and this facility positions us to meet that demand today and well into the future.”
He added that Dubai’s role as a major international trade and logistics hub continues to make it a strategic location for DSV’s regional expansion plans.
“We are proud to be deepening our roots in Dubai – one of the world’s most important trade hubs – and we look forward to delivering even greater value to our customers across the region,” Monem said.
The company indicated that the warehouse has been specifically designed to support operational flexibility and long-term scalability, allowing it to adapt to evolving customer supply chain requirements and changing market conditions.
Supporting Growth Across Key Industry Sectors
The new JAFZA facility is expected to support multiple high-growth industry sectors that increasingly require sophisticated logistics infrastructure and integrated distribution capabilities.
Healthcare logistics, in particular, continues to expand rapidly across the Middle East as demand rises for temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical handling, medical supply distribution and healthcare supply chain resilience.
Similarly, the retail and technology sectors are driving increased demand for regional fulfilment centres and faster inventory movement, fuelled by e-commerce growth and changing consumer expectations across the GCC region.
The automotive sector also remains an important contributor to logistics growth in the Middle East, with demand increasing for spare parts distribution, vehicle components handling and integrated regional supply chain management.
Chrys Mendonca, Managing Director, Contract Logistics, Dubai at DSV, said the facility was developed with long-term customer requirements in mind.
“We’ve built this facility with our customers’ future needs in mind – a space designed for performance, flexibility, and long-term success,” Mendonca said. “Today’s opening is not just about bricks and mortar; it’s about reinforcing our promise to deliver world-class logistics solutions right here in Dubai.”
He added that the company expects the new facility to further strengthen DSV’s growth trajectory within the UAE and across the wider region.
Strengthening Dubai’s Role as a Global Logistics Gateway
Industry analysts note that continued investment by global logistics providers in Dubai reflects the emirate’s growing importance as a regional distribution and transshipment centre connecting international trade routes.
JAFZA’s proximity to Jebel Ali Port, Al Maktoum International Airport and major regional transport networks has made it a preferred base for multinational logistics companies seeking integrated multimodal connectivity.
DSV stated that the new logistics hub will play a central role in strengthening collaboration with customers, suppliers and strategic partners across the supply chain ecosystem while supporting the efficient movement of goods between regional and global markets.
As regional trade volumes continue to grow and supply chains become increasingly diversified, investments in advanced warehousing and integrated logistics infrastructure are expected to remain a major focus area across the Middle East logistics sector.
