Hong Kong Air Cargo has expanded its international charter network with the launch of a new round-trip freighter service between Hong Kong and Brisbane, Australia.
The weekly service began on 29 August and operates every Saturday between Hong Kong International Airport and Brisbane Airport, providing additional dedicated cargo capacity between East Asia and Queensland.
The carrier is operating the service under flight numbers RH703 from Hong Kong to Brisbane and RH704 on the return sector. According to the published schedule, RH703 departs Hong Kong at 06:00 and arrives in Brisbane at 16:40, while the return flight departs Brisbane at 18:10 and arrives in Hong Kong at 01:10 the following day.
Hong Kong Air Cargo said the addition of Brisbane would strengthen its regional network and create new trade opportunities between East Asia and Oceania.
“By expanding footprint at Queensland’s premier aviation gateway, the route strengthens our regional network and opens lucrative trade lanes between East Asia and Oceania,” the carrier said.
The Brisbane launch follows Hong Kong Air Cargo’s expansion in India earlier this month, when it became the first international carrier to operate freighter services to Navi Mumbai International Airport. The carrier’s newsroom lists the Navi Mumbai operation among a series of recent network and charter developments.
The airline has also been expanding its international cargo network in Europe, including services to Milan Malpensa, Liège, Oslo and several UK airports. Its European network development has been closely linked to demand for cross-border e-commerce and other time-sensitive cargo flows.
Hong Kong Air Cargo began operations in Europe with a service to Milan Malpensa in October 2023. It subsequently added Liège in February 2024, followed by Oslo in September 2024. Its UK network has expanded through London Stansted, Birmingham, Glasgow Prestwick and East Midlands.
The carrier has continued to develop its network in 2026, including the launch of scheduled cargo services to Amman in January.
Hong Kong Air Cargo operates an Airbus A330 freighter fleet, combining production-built A330-200Fs with converted aircraft. The carrier uses its freighter capacity for scheduled and charter operations across its growing international network.
The Brisbane service gives Hong Kong Air Cargo another dedicated freighter link into the Australia market and adds capacity to the increasingly important Asia–Oceania air cargo corridor.
The carrier said it would continue to explore opportunities to expand into key markets and develop additional long-haul services.
