New Beirut offices reinforce the company’s Eastern Mediterranean presence, supporting airlines, freight forwarders and regional trade through digital cargo solutions
ECS Group has expanded its international General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) network with the launch of new operations in Lebanon, strengthening its presence in the Eastern Mediterranean and enhancing support for airlines and freight forwarders serving one of the region’s key trade corridors.
The company officially commenced operations on 1 July 2026, opening two offices in Beirut—one located at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) and another in the city centre. The expansion, confirmed through ECS Group’s official announcement, forms part of the company’s long-term strategy to strengthen cargo connectivity between Europe and the Middle East while providing airlines with advanced commercial and digital cargo services.
Strategic gateway for regional air cargo
Lebanon’s geographical location has long positioned it as an important logistics gateway linking Europe, the Middle East and wider regional markets. Recognising the country’s strategic importance, ECS Group has established a permanent local presence to support airline network development and facilitate growing trade flows through Beirut.
The new offices will provide a comprehensive portfolio of GSSA services, including cargo sales, booking management, commercial representation and regulatory compliance support for both narrow-body and wide-body airline operators seeking to expand or strengthen their operations in the Lebanese market.
The expansion enables ECS Group to deliver local market expertise backed by the financial stability, operational experience and global reach of one of the air cargo industry’s leading international GSSA organisations.
Digital innovation at the core
A key differentiator of the new Lebanese operation will be the deployment of CargoTech, ECS Group’s suite of digital cargo management solutions.
The technology platform will enable the Beirut-based teams to optimise aircraft cargo capacity, improve booking efficiency and respond more rapidly to changing customer requirements while enhancing operational transparency for airline partners and freight forwarders.
The digital tools are designed to maximise available cargo space, streamline commercial processes and improve service delivery across a wide range of cargo products, including general cargo and perishable shipments, both of which represent important market segments for Lebanon’s international trade.
By combining digital innovation with local commercial expertise, ECS Group aims to provide airlines and logistics providers with efficient, compliant and customer-focused cargo solutions tailored to regional market requirements.
Supporting airline growth
The Lebanese operation has been established to support airlines seeking greater commercial representation and operational efficiency in the region.
Through its dedicated local teams, ECS Group will provide end-to-end cargo sales management, customer support and compliance services while helping airline partners improve market penetration and optimise revenue opportunities.
Freight forwarders operating in Lebanon will also benefit from improved access to airline capacity, faster booking processes and services delivered in accordance with international industry standards and regulatory requirements.
The company’s investment reflects increasing demand for technology-enabled GSSA services as airlines continue to pursue greater commercial efficiency and digital transformation across global cargo markets.
Executive perspective
Commenting on the expansion, Jean Ceccaldi, Chief Executive Officer of ECS Group, highlighted Lebanon’s strategic importance within the company’s international growth plans.
“Lebanon has long been on our expansion roadmap in its function as a key trade corridor between Europe and the Middle East, and discussions with existing and potential partners have consistently pointed to strong regional development prospects both currently and in the future.”
He added that the company intends to introduce a new level of digital capability to the Lebanese cargo market.
“Until now, the market has lacked a structured GSSA organisation with strong digital capabilities. Our teams bring these capabilities to Lebanon, along with a keen focus on commercial efficiency, compliance standards, and customer centricity. ECS Group is committed to investing in a long-term presence in Beirut to support Lebanon’s trade flows and economic resilience, by building durable local and international partnerships.”
Expanding global GSSA footprint
The launch of the Beirut offices represents another milestone in ECS Group’s ongoing international expansion strategy, which focuses on combining local market expertise with advanced digital technologies to deliver enhanced cargo sales and distribution services.
As airlines continue to modernise their commercial operations and seek broader market access, technology-driven GSSA providers are playing an increasingly important role in connecting carriers with freight forwarders through digital booking platforms, data-driven sales management and optimised cargo capacity utilisation.
With its latest investment in Lebanon, ECS Group further strengthens its position across the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean while supporting the continued growth of regional air cargo connectivity and international trade.
