“Digitalisation is a key pillar of Ethiopian Cargo’s long-term strategy,” said Managing Director of Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services, Dereje Derero. “Partnering with CargoAi allows us to bring our services closer to freight forwarders worldwide by offering a modern, seamless booking experience. This step reinforces our commitment to innovation and to delivering agile, data-driven solutions that meet the evolving needs of the global air cargo industry.”
Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services has partnered with CargoAi to strengthen its digital booking capabilities, giving freight forwarders access to real-time rates and eBooking across the airline’s cargo network.
Announced on 17 September 2026, the strategic partnership forms part of Ethiopian Cargo’s broader digitalisation programme and is designed to improve access to capacity, pricing and booking through CargoAi’s digital platform.
Real-Time Rates and eBooking
Through the integration, more than 30,000 freight forwarders will gain access to Ethiopian Cargo’s cargo capacity and pricing through the CargoAi marketplace, as well as through direct connections with leading transport management systems (TMS).
The arrangement is intended to provide greater visibility and automation across multiple booking environments. Ethiopian Cargo capacity is available for booking through CargoMART, CargoAi’s digital air cargo marketplace, with the platform currently offering real-time access to rates and capacity from more than 115 airlines.
The partnership covers Ethiopian Cargo’s General Cargo and Express offerings, giving forwarders a digital route to the carrier’s services while reducing reliance on manual booking processes.
Digital Interline Capabilities
The agreement also gives Ethiopian Cargo access to CargoAi’s interline capabilities, supporting digital collaboration with airline partners through interline bookings and shared capacity management.
Ethiopian Cargo already maintains an extensive interline network. Its own platform states that the carrier has special prorate agreements with more than 97 airlines, allowing it to extend its network and provide additional routing options for customers.
The digital integration is therefore positioned to support both Ethiopian Cargo’s direct bookings and its wider connectivity with airline partners.
Digitalisation Strategy
“Digitalisation is a key pillar of Ethiopian Cargo’s long-term strategy,” said Dereje Derero, Managing Director of Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services.
He said the partnership would bring Ethiopian Cargo’s services closer to freight forwarders worldwide through a more seamless booking experience, while supporting the airline’s focus on innovation and data-driven solutions.
Matthieu Petot, CEO of CargoAi, said the partnership would provide forwarders with real-time access to capacity and pricing while increasing Ethiopian Cargo’s digital visibility and global reach.
Expanding Digital Access Across Air Cargo
The partnership adds another digital distribution channel for Ethiopian Cargo as the carrier continues to expand its technology offering.
Earlier in 2026, Ethiopian Cargo announced plans to join Freightos’ WebCargo booking platform, with digital rates, quoting, eBooking, payments and interlining capabilities forming part of that integration.
CargoAi, meanwhile, provides digital solutions spanning eBooking, rates, connectivity, tracking, payments and AI-enabled workflow automation. Its current platform connects freight professionals with airline capacity and rates while supporting direct integrations with logistics technology systems.
For Ethiopian Cargo, the latest partnership represents a further step towards making its growing international cargo capacity more accessible through digital channels, while giving freight forwarders greater visibility and automation when sourcing and booking air freight.
