Ethiopian Cargo has started its three times weekly service to Bangkok starting April 17 to transport essential supplies and masks. The carrier continues its mission-critical services across the world.
The passenger freighter carried 23 tonnes in its first flight even using its cabin space.
On April 24, onetime flight carrying 52 tonnes was operated from Addis Ababa-Brussels-Oslo-Incheon-Hong Kong-Mumbai-Addis Ababa using a B777F. The shipment from Addis consisted of flowers & perishables. The Incheon destined shipment was salmon from Oslo. Thereon, consumer goods were transported from Incheon to Hong Kong, Mumbai, and Addis Ababa.
Recently, B777 has transported 1,280,000 masks, 4,250,000 gloves, 121,050 protective coveralls and 27,600 eye protection goggles from Shanghai to Valencia.
Effective April 26, Ethiopian Airlines has started operating its B777-300 passenger freighter from Hyderabad, India. As of now, it will be a weekly flight and the frequency is expected to go up to two in the near future. Both cabin and belly will be used to carry the pharma shipments which accounts for a total of 70 tonnes.
Recently, Ethiopian Airlines MRO has reconfigured four B777-300ER to transport cargo.
