Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has officially signed legislation to rename Palm Beach International Airport (PBI)as President Donald J. Trump International Airport, effective July 1, 2026. The decision celebrates the longstanding connection between the airport and former President Trump, who has frequently traveled through the facility to his Mar‑a‑Lago residence.

The renaming reflects recognition of Trump’s impact on the region and the strong ties between South Florida and the former U.S. president. By honoring a figure with global recognition, the airport is positioned to strengthen its visibility and brand identity in both domestic and international markets.

Governor DeSantis signed the law with discretion, highlighting the significance of the change while allowing for careful administrative preparation. Federal approval and updates from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)will ensure that the new name is fully integrated into navigational charts, airline systems, and passenger information platforms.

The renaming provides a high-profile branding opportunity for Palm Beach International Airport, reinforcing its position as a key gateway to South Florida. Airport operators will leverage the transition to enhance marketing efforts, signage, and overall passenger experience, aligning the facility’s identity with the prestige of hosting one of the world’s most recognized names.

Republican leaders have welcomed the move, emphasizing the symbolic and strategic value of the renaming. The initiative also strengthens South Florida’s profile as a premier destination for global travelers, enhancing awareness of the region’s cultural, economic, and tourism offerings.

The rebranding is scheduled to be implemented over the coming months, with the airport fully operational under its new name by July. Updates will include new signage, digital displays, branding materials, and wayfinding systems, ensuring a seamless transition for passengers, airlines, and logistics partners.

By highlighting the airport’s association with a globally known figure, Florida aims to boost tourism, commerce, and international attention on the Palm Beach region, positioning the airport as both a gateway and a landmark within the U.S. aviation network.
