Group Concorde has been appointed General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) for Vietjet Air Cargo in Japan and Indonesia, expanding the airline representation company’s presence across two important Asia-Pacific air cargo markets.

The appointment takes effect in August 2026 and will see Group Concorde represent Vietjet Air Cargo’s commercial interests in both countries, with responsibility for sales development, customer engagement and market expansion.

The partnership forms part of Vietjet Air Cargo’s wider efforts to strengthen its cargo business across the Asia-Pacific region, while giving shippers and freight forwarders in Japan and Indonesia access to the airline’s cargo capacity and connections through Vietnam.

Expanding regional cargo representation

Group Concorde provides airline representation services across Asia Pacific, South Asia and the Middle East. The new agreement adds Japan and Indonesia to its growing network of markets supporting airline cargo sales and commercial development.

Under the GSSA arrangement, Group Concorde’s local teams will work with freight forwarders, shippers and logistics providers to develop cargo business for Vietjet Air Cargo.

The company will focus on increasing market awareness, developing customer relationships and identifying new cargo opportunities in both markets.

Japan and Indonesia are important components of the Asia-Pacific air freight landscape, with established manufacturing, automotive, electronics, technology, consumer goods and other export industries generating demand for international air cargo services.

The appointment therefore provides Vietjet Air Cargo with additional commercial resources in markets where connectivity and access to reliable capacity are important considerations for cargo customers.

Strengthening Vietjet Air Cargo’s market presence

For Vietjet Air Cargo, the partnership provides dedicated local representation as the carrier develops its cargo offering and international network.

Vietnam occupies a strategic position within Southeast Asia, providing connections between major Asian production and consumption centres. Through its network, the airline can serve cargo movements between Vietnam and other markets across the region, while supporting onward connectivity to international destinations.

The appointment of a GSSA in Japan and Indonesia is designed to strengthen the commercial reach of these services by placing dedicated sales and customer support teams closer to local cargo customers.

Praveen Narayanan, vice president – Asia Pacific at Group Concorde, said the company was pleased to partner with Vietjet Air Cargo in the two markets.

“Both markets play an important role in the Asia-Pacific air cargo landscape, and this appointment reflects the trust Vietjet Air Cargo has placed in Group Concorde,” Narayanan said.

He added that Group Concorde’s teams in Japan and Indonesia would focus on customer service, strengthening commercial relationships and identifying opportunities for sustainable cargo growth.

Local expertise and customer engagement

The GSSA model allows airlines to use specialised local representation to manage sales and market development without having to establish a full commercial organisation in every market.

For cargo operations, local market knowledge can be particularly important in understanding forwarder requirements, shipment flows, capacity demand and the commercial characteristics of individual trade lanes.

Group Concorde said its dedicated teams in Japan and Indonesia would work closely with Vietjet Air Cargo to develop its presence in the markets and support customers with access to cargo capacity.

The partnership combines Group Concorde’s regional airline representation experience and local resources with Vietjet Air Cargo’s expanding network.

For freight forwarders and shippers, this is expected to provide a more direct channel to Vietjet Air Cargo’s cargo services and connectivity through Vietnam.

Focus on Asia-Pacific opportunities

The appointment comes as air cargo networks across Asia-Pacific continue to evolve in response to changing manufacturing locations, international trade patterns and growing demand for regional connectivity.

Japan remains one of Asia’s major industrial and export economies, while Indonesia has developed into an increasingly important manufacturing and consumer market within Southeast Asia.

Both markets generate a broad range of air freight, including high-value manufactured goods, electronics, automotive components, machinery, pharmaceuticals and other time-sensitive products.

By strengthening local sales representation in the two countries, Vietjet Air Cargo and Group Concorde will be positioned to pursue opportunities across these cargo segments while developing stronger relationships with the regional forwarding community.

The partnership also adds to Group Concorde’s wider Asia-Pacific representation network, reinforcing its role as a commercial partner for airlines seeking to develop cargo business across the region.

As the new GSSA arrangement takes effect in August, the two companies will focus on building customer engagement and expanding cargo opportunities between Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam and international markets.
