Mexico’s fast-growing cargo airline Awesome Cargo has taken delivery of its third Airbus A330-200P2F, marking another major milestone in the carrier’s ambitious long-haul cargo expansion strategy and strengthening its position in transcontinental air freight markets.
The newly delivered aircraft, registered XA-DUR, officially joined the airline’s fleet in mid-May, completing what industry observers describe as the carrier’s initial three-aircraft A330 freighter program. The delivery was confirmed by company executives through official social media channels, while flight tracking data shows the aircraft repositioned from Mexico City International Airport to Felipe Ángeles International Airport, the airline’s primary cargo hub, on May 14.
The latest addition further strengthens Awesome Cargo’s growing international footprint as the airline continues building a long-haul cargo platform from Mexico, connecting North America with Europe, Asia, and South America.
Speaking on the fleet milestone, Luis Ramos highlighted the significance of the achievement.
“When we launched Awesome Cargo, many believed building a Mexican long-haul cargo airline during a global supply chain crisis was impossible. Today, seeing three converted A330 freighters operating globally proves that vision, resilience, and people can outperform doubt,” Ramos said.
The aircraft underwent an extensive passenger-to-freighter conversion before entering service, equipped with reinforced flooring, cargo handling systems, smoke detection technology, and a full main-deck cargo door—transforming the former passenger jet into a high-capacity intercontinental freighter.
Founded during one of the most turbulent periods in global logistics, Awesome Cargo received operational approval from Mexico’s civil aviation authority in 2023 to conduct charter passenger and cargo operations. Since then, the carrier has steadily expanded its portfolio, serving markets across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
The airline currently transports a diverse range of cargo, including general freight, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce shipments, perishables, and live animals, while also offering ACMI, CMI, and charter solutions to global customers.
Awesome Cargo’s expansion comes at a time when Mexico continues strengthening its role as a strategic logistics gateway between Asia and the Americas. In 2025, the carrier launched a dedicated perishables corridor linking Tijuana with Zhengzhou, targeting high-value export flows.
With its third A330-200P2F now operational, Awesome Cargo appears positioned for further fleet expansion as demand for long-haul freighter capacity remains strong across key manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and e-commerce corridors.
