Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has successfully passed the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) once again.

From 26 to 30 August, Oman Air was subject to an IOSA Renewal Audit, conducted by Aviation Quality Services, an audit organisation, accredited by IATA. IOSA seeks to ensure that airlines are compliant with safety requirements and recommended practices determined by IATA; the programme is an internationally recognised and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline.

Oman Air met all the required standards, passing with the highest possible findings after the IOSA team examined the airline’s safety procedures and processes in detail. The Oman Air Operations and Maintenance teams worked together in unison, guided by Quality Assurance Operations, and led by VPQAO, Capt. Salim Ali Al Rashdi, to achieve a successful IOSA Audit.

Eng. Abdulaziz Al Raisi, Oman Air CEO said: “The IOSA is probably the most important examination of our operations and the results are testament to our all-encompassing safety culture. I can say with confidence that Oman Air staff will continue to implement and deliver the most efficient of safety procedures in all their operations to ensure we remain industry leaders in this field.”

IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) is mandatory for all IATA member airlines, reviewing standards in eight operational areas, including operations management, flight operations, cabin operations, maintenance, flight dispatch, ground and cargo operations and security.
