- SAL Logistics Services, the national leader in cargo handling, logistics solutions, and supply chain management in Saudi Arabia, has announced the achievement of its HSSE Integrated Management System being triple ISO certified.
- This accreditation unifies three internationally recognised ISO standards within a cohesive governance framework, following a rigorous external audit conducted to the highest global standards
- SAL is the first Saudi company in the logistics sector to receive this integrated certification, marking a groundbreaking accomplishment in the industry.
SAL Saudi Logistics Services has achieved triple ISO certification for its integrated Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Management System, becoming the first logistics company in Saudi Arabia to secure the combined accreditation under a unified governance framework.
The milestone underscores SAL’s growing focus on operational excellence, sustainability and international compliance standards as the Kingdom accelerates efforts to position itself as a leading global logistics hub under Saudi Vision 2030.
According to the company, the certification was awarded following a comprehensive external audit conducted in line with internationally recognised standards. The integrated framework combines three major ISO certifications into a single management structure covering occupational health and safety, environmental management and security operations.
The certifications include ISO 45001 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ISO 14001 for Environmental Management Systems and ISO 18788 for Security Operations Management Systems.
SAL stated that the achievement reflects its commitment to implementing globally recognised best practices across all areas of its logistics and cargo handling operations, while strengthening governance, operational resilience and sustainability performance across its network.
Strengthening Operational Standards Across Saudi Arabia
The company said the certification was achieved through the expertise and operational capabilities of SAL’s teams working across its major logistics and cargo hubs throughout the Kingdom.
As one of Saudi Arabia’s leading providers of cargo handling, logistics services and supply chain solutions, SAL has been expanding its operational footprint in alignment with the country’s rapidly evolving aviation and logistics sectors.
The integrated certification framework is expected to enhance operational consistency across the company’s facilities while supporting safer working environments, improved environmental performance and stronger security controls throughout the supply chain.
Industry analysts note that integrated HSSE systems are becoming increasingly important across global logistics and air cargo operations as customers, regulators and international partners place greater emphasis on compliance, sustainability and risk management.
The inclusion of ISO 18788 is particularly significant within the logistics sector, as the standard focuses on security operations management and risk mitigation in complex operating environments — an area gaining importance amid rising geopolitical and supply chain security concerns globally.
Expanding International Credentials
The latest achievement builds upon SAL’s growing portfolio of international certifications and operational accreditations aimed at strengthening its competitiveness in regional and global logistics markets.
The company already holds ISO 9001 certification for Quality Management Systems and ISO 22301 certification for Business Continuity Management Systems, alongside the International Air Transport Association’s ISAGO certification for ground handling safety standards.
These certifications collectively reinforce SAL’s positioning as a logistics and ground handling operator aligned with international aviation, cargo and supply chain standards.
The company said the new integrated certification further demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the highest levels of operational safety, service quality and business continuity while supporting customers across aviation, freight forwarding and industrial logistics sectors.
Supporting Saudi Vision 2030 Logistics Goals
SAL said the achievement aligns closely with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), both of which aim to transform Saudi Arabia into a major global logistics and transportation hub connecting Asia, Europe and Africa.
Saudi Arabia has invested heavily in logistics infrastructure, airport development, free zones and multimodal transportation networks as part of broader efforts to diversify the national economy beyond oil dependence.
Within the air cargo sector, the Kingdom has identified logistics and supply chain development as critical pillars for economic growth, industrial expansion and international trade competitiveness.
SAL stated that it will continue implementing and strengthening these operational standards across all its facilities and service locations, contributing to the Kingdom’s ambition of becoming a globally integrated logistics gateway.
The company’s continued investment in international certification frameworks also reflects a wider trend across the Middle East logistics sector, where operators are increasingly pursuing globally recognised standards to attract multinational customers, improve supply chain transparency and support sustainable long-term growth.
