Turkish Airlines has taken an important step in contributing to secure supply chain efforts as a certified member of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program created by CBP.
Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT); is a partnership program carried out by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to provide the highest level of cargo security through close cooperation with the principle stakeholders of the international supply chain. The purpose of this program is to fight against all acts of terrorism that threaten cargo transportation, protect the supply chain, identify security gaps, implement specific security measures and best practices.
C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) is a voluntary, joint government-business partnership to help add to secure supply chain and increase border security. As a C-TPAT certified airline, Turkish Airlines will work with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to support these efforts. The potential benefits from C-TPAT certification is a measurable increase in the speed of freight and a reduction of fees in addition to a variety of front-of-line privileges.
