UPS has opened a new logistics hub at Clark International Airport in the Philippines, expanding itsregional parcel-processing capacityand strengthening connections across more than 1,100 internationaltrade lanes.
The facility represents an investment of more than US$80 million and is 15 times larger than itspredecessor. Covering 30,000 square metres, the new hub can process an average of 46,000 packagesper day, with maximum throughput of 15,000 packages per hour. The projecthas also created nearly600 jobs, according to UPS.
The opening, announced on 15 October 2026, forms part of the company’s wider strategy to reinforceits Asia-Pacific logistics networkamid shifting trade routes, growing demand for time-sensitivedeliveries and increasing supply-chain complexity.
UPS now operates 170 weekly flight segments to and from Clark, linking businesses in the Asia-Pacific region, India, Europe and the UnitedStates. The company says the expanded hub will enablefaster transit times on selected routes, with some services improving by up totwo days.
Dedicated Handling for Healthcare and High-Tech Shipments
The new facility is designed to accommodate the requirements of healthcare, high-tech andmanufacturing customers, particularly thoseshipping time-critical or temperature-sensitive products.
Its specialised infrastructure includes three refrigeration and freezer units covering temperaturesfrom -20°C to 25°C, dedicated re-icingcapability and UPS Premier radio-frequency identification(RFID) technology. These systems are intended to provide enhanced shipmentvisibility and priorityhandling for critical healthcare consignments.
An automated sorting system can process up to 9,000 small packages per hour, supporting fasterparcel movement through the hub. Rampoperations also use electric ground-support equipment, including cargo tractors, belt loaders, cargo loaders, ground power units and forklifts.
The facility has received a sustainability certification, according to UPS, although the company’sannouncement does not specify the certificationscheme or rating.
Faster Connections Across More Than 1,100 Trade Lanes
UPS said the new hub will improve services on more than 1,100 trade lanes worldwide, including fasterdeliveries to and from eastern Chinaand other major Asia-Pacific markets. Selected routes betweenSoutheast Asia and India are also expected to benefit from transit-timereductions of up to two days.
Other planned service improvements include extended collection cut-off times, earlier deliveriesin selected markets and improved connectivityfor shipments moving to and from the Philippines.
Russell Reed, managing director of UPS Philippines, said the expansion builds on the company’spresence at Clark, where it established itsfirst hub in 2002. He said the new facility would supportcustomers, employees and the local community while creating further opportunitiesfor international trade.
Bernard Jiang, president of UPS Asia Pacific, described the opening as part of a sustained, multi-year investment programme launchedin 2024 to strengthen the company’s regional network andimprove service reliability.
Part of a Wider Asia-Pacific Investment Programme
The Clark hub is the latest in a series of infrastructure projects undertaken by UPS across Asia-Pacific. In March 2026, the company openedits largest logistics centre in the region in Taiwan andbroke ground on a new hub at Hong Kong International Airport. In April, it completeda major expansionof its facility at Incheon Airport in South Korea.
These investments are intended to improve the integration of air, ground, brokerage and distributionservices, providing customers withgreater shipment visibility and more options for managing complexinternational supply chains.
For the Philippines, the expanded Clark operation strengthens the country’s role within UPS’s regionalnetwork. For freight customers, theadditional processing capacity and specialised handling infrastructurecould support faster movement of parcels and high-value shipmentsacross key international markets.
