Philippines-based carrier Cebu Pacific has announced the early renewal and expansion of its long-term partnership with Jettainer, reinforcing a collaboration that has underpinned the airline’s operational resilience and cargo growth since 2020. The renewed agreement extends comprehensive unit load device (ULD) management and maintenance services, while introducing next-generation IoT-enabled tracking capabilities aimed at enhancing efficiency and sustainability.
The partnership, initially forged at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, required a fully remote onboarding process—an operational challenge that both companies successfully navigated. Since then, the collaboration has matured alongside Cebu Pacific’s rapid recovery and expansion. Today, the airline operates a fleet of approximately 100 aircraft, including 14 Airbus A330neo jets, positioning it among operators of the youngest fleets globally. The carrier has also strengthened its footprint across domestic and international routes, while maintaining its status as a leading air cargo provider in the Philippines.
Under the terms of the extended agreement, Jettainer will continue to supply a customised ULD fleet tailored to Cebu Pacific’s operational requirements. Management of these assets will be conducted through Jettainer’s proprietary digital platform, JettwareNG, designed to optimise equipment availability and streamline logistics across the airline’s network.
A key highlight of the renewed partnership is the deployment of Jettainer’s advanced IoT tracking solution. The system leverages a hybrid combination of LoRa and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technologies, supplemented by cellular-enabled devices that act as mobile readers. Using meshing capabilities, the technology creates a dynamic and scalable network, significantly improving real-time visibility of ULD assets. This enhanced transparency is expected to drive more efficient asset utilisation, minimise unnecessary repositioning, and contribute to Cebu Pacific’s broader sustainability objectives.
To further strengthen operational alignment, Jettainer will appoint a dedicated Customer Service Manager to work directly with Cebu Pacific. This on-site role is intended to provide continuous operational support, streamline workflows, and elevate service quality across the airline’s expanding route network.
Javier Massot, Chief Operations Officer at Cebu Pacific said “Jettainer has been a reliable and innovative partner throughout our growth journey. Their consistent ULD availability, seamless operational integration and proactive support have helped us drive efficiency and reduce unnecessary ULD movements, supporting our sustainability efforts,”
Jettainer said customer satisfaction through operational excellence is at the heart of its mission. “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Cebu Pacific for their sustained trust and look forward to continuing our joint growth trajectory. Innovative services that add value, combined with customer proximity, are important priorities for us as we strive to always provide the best possible support,” said Thorsten Riekert, Chief Sales Officer of Jettainer.
The expanded agreement signals a continued alignment between the two companies as they focus on scaling operations, improving asset visibility, and advancing sustainability in air cargo logistics.
