“One of the most important and ambitious projects in our history.” This has been cataloged within the LATAM Cargo project that will replace the set of loading systems by a single system that will cover all the functionalities of the business, from the planning stage to the collection.

In addition to delivering more and better tools to customers, this new system will result in greater efficiency by standardizing processes across different regions and reducing costs by being a Software as a Service (SaaS) model. After a detailed evaluation process, LATAM Cargo selected CROAMIS – from the Indian company WIPRO – as its new system.

Given the scale of the project, 45 people will be exclusively dedicated to its execution with the support of more than 100 employees. Once implemented at the end of 2020, LATAM Cargo will have one of the most modern and sophisticated systems platforms in the world.

“Maintaining our leadership in air cargo transportation to, from and between Latin America forces us to constantly evolve and innovate. Having a robust, modern and efficient technological platform is key to being competitive in today’s cargo industry. This management system will not only allow us to meet the current needs of our customers, but also face the challenges of the future. Additionally, the change will allow us to improve reliability and optimize our cost structure.

CROAMIS is a platform that meets the requirements to make a leap in both international and domestic markets, “says Andrés Bianchi, CEO of LATAM Cargo.
For his part, Deviprasad Rambhatla, Vice President & Global Head – Travel, Transportation, Hospitality and Public Sector Industries, Wipro Limited , said: “It is an honor to welcome to LATAM Cargo the user community of CROAMIS. With CROAMIS we are carrying out a digital transformation in the world of cargo transport, which, until now, was only common in the passenger business. Wipro has assembled a team of talented professionals from the cargo industry from different parts of the world who have the support of a large group of technology experts to build a solid and scalable foundation for the CROAMIS community. ”
This transformation will bring with it a series of advantages. The new system will give the company greater agility to satisfy the needs of its customers, generating a transcendental contribution in its value chain. Once CROAMIS is implemented, customers will have a new tracking system, more and better self-service tools such as e-booking, e-claims, e-rates , and a system aligned with industry standards.
Additionally, replacing several systems will improve reliability and uptime ; the product will be flexible and can be modified according to the needs of the industry; and will allow the easy adoption of new technologies. Finally, CROAMIS will enable a substantial increase in the efficiency of the company by reducing the number of systems it uses and the associated infrastructure.

“The end to end system will transform both our internal operation and the way we relate to our customers. It allows us to be aligned with the global standard of the air transport industry and, in turn, gives us the opportunity to be more efficient and offer greater autonomy and transparency to our customers, ” added Bianchi.
The project started at the end of 2017 and will be implemented gradually until the end of 2020.
