SmartLynx Airlines, a leading charter airline based in Riga, Latvia, has announced the appointment of a new Technical Vice President to oversee its fleet of Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
The company, which operates flights to destinations throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, has appointed Janis Blums to the position.
Janis brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously held senior positions at several major airlines. He has a strong background in aircraft maintenance and engineering and is well-versed in the latest industry regulations and safety standards.
In his new role, Janis will be responsible for ensuring that SmartLynx Airlines’ fleet of aircraft is maintained to the highest standards of safety and reliability. He will also play a key role in the company’s ongoing fleet modernization program, which aims to introduce new, more efficient aircraft to the fleet.
